Firstly、In addiction、Now、However等,都值得讀者朋友們反復斟酌學習。
Press Officer: OK, ①let’s get underway, shall we? Thank you all so very much for taking the time to make it to BZ today. And ②thanks for putting up with our technical problems, which resulted in a last minute change of venue. We’ll begin the press conference with presentations from some of our management staff, who will fill you in on the latest developments for BZ. Following this, we will have a QA session, so I ask that you please hold any questions until the end. Please welcome the CEO of BZ, Mr. Henry Jacobs.
Mr. Jacobs: Thank you ladies and gentlemen. ③I’m so thrilled to be here today to bring you up to speed on the exciting projects we have been working on over the last year. I will just give a brief outline of all the facts and figures, but for a more detailed breakdown, please refer to your 1)press kits. Firstly, I’d like to announce BZ’s first official step towards going green. As a result of installing energy saving products and devices in all our offices globally, we have managed to reduce our
2)carbon emissions by almost 20 percent. In addition, water-recycling systems have been installed in all our factories and manufacturing plants. We have also made significant improvements to our waste management procedures. Now, ④making such changes has come at a cost. We have had to reduce our 3)taskforce by 5 percent, with the majority of jobs lost coming from 4)RD. ⑤I realize the company may come under fire for this, but I can assure you, jobs were only lost where absolutely necessary. These are difficult economic times and we are all doing our best to adjust. However, ⑥on a positive note, ⑦plans have been set in motion that will cultivate employment opportunities. These plans include partnership agreements with third parties to fully 5)harness the advantages of marketing through the emerging technologies and not simply sticking to traditional methods.
