CMEPE 2019: Enterprises Going Global and Achieving Rich Accomplishments

In recent years， the economic and trade exchanges between China and Vietnam have become increasingly frequent， and Vietnam has consistently ranked among the top three in trade volume between China and ASEAN countries. Both sides have urgent demands and willingness to strengthen the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. In order to expand the platform of China-ASEAN Expo （CAEXPO） and deepen the economic and trade cooperation between China and Vietnam， the CAEXPO Mechanical & Electrical Products Exhibition （Vietnam） 2019 （CMEPE 2019） was held at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center （SECC） in Ho Chi Minh City， Vietnam from November 27 to 30， 2019.

This is the third time that an oversea exhibition of CAEXPO has been held in Vietnam since 2016， attracting the attention and favor from the Chinese and Vietnamese governments， economic and trade authorities， enterprises and consumers.

According to Wang Lei， Secretary-General of CAEXPO Secretariat， CMEPE is the only professional oversea exhibition of CAEXPO. It has been successfully held for two successive years and achieved remarkable economic and trade accomplishments. In the future， in-depth cooperation with relevant Vietnamese authorities will be conducted to pursue mutual benefit and win-win results， further promote CMEPE to be a platform for trade and investment cooperation between China and Vietnam， and make new contribution to bilateral exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in economy， trade and other fields.

China Guangxi Products Exhibition 2019 （Vietnam） （CGPE 2019） was held at the same time with CMEPE 2019. Wu Jun， Consul-General of China in Ho Chi Minh City， said CAEXPO as an important and open platform for China and ASEAN， has become an important bridge to deepen China-Vietnam relations， playing a prominent role in expanding Chinese enterprises investment in Vietnam， promoting Vietnamese exports to China， realizing bilateral trade balance and promoting mutual benefit and win-win results. It is believed that CMEPE 2019 and CGPE 2019 will deepen bilateral economic and trade cooperation between the two countries， promote the formation of industrial chains in more fields， better serve enterprises， create business opportunities and achieve more accomplishments.

Guangxi as the permanent venue of CAEXPO and bordering Vietnam， has always attached great importance to the economic and trade cooperation with Vietnam， by relying on its unique geographical advantages. Liang Yiguang， Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region， said that CMEPE 2019 and CGPE 2019 were aimed at comprehensively improving the level of economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnam， and furthermore， that between Guangxi and ASEAN. Many Guangxis enterprises were organized to participate in the exhibitions， collectively showcasing people famous enterprises and products in Guangxi， hopefully to take this opportunity to expand the imports of products from Vietnam and participating countries.

“Since 2016， CAEXPO Secretariat has cooperated with governmental departments of ASEAN countries to hold a number of oversea exhibitions for various industries， promoting bilateral trade and shaping a good brand image for the CAEXPO. This years CMEPE has showed the world the latest machinery and technology of top enterprises in China and I believe this is a great opportunity for enterprises from both countries to cooperate and improve their competitiveness，” said Le Hoang Tai， Deputy Director-General of Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency.

Famous enterprises passionately participating in the exhibition

CMEPE 2019 lasted for four days， focusing on exhibited mechanical equipment such as brick machines， numerical control machines， food machinery and engineering machinery， electrical equipment such as smart consumer electronics， monitors and audio equipment， new energy such as solar panels， transformers and frequency converters， transport vehicles such as electric off-road vehicles， tractors and cars， building materials and other high quality products that meet the Vietnamese market.

Famous enterprises from Guangxi that participated in the exhibition included Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co.， Ltd.， LiuGong， SINOTRUK Liuzhou Yunli Special Vehicle Co.， Ltd.， Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co.， Ltd.， Beiliu Shengjing Table Products Co.， Ltd.， Guangxi Nanshan Porcelain Co.， Ltd. and Hezhou Yangcheng Building Materials Co.， Ltd.

Among these enterprises， Dongfeng Liuzhou， a leading enterprise in Chinese automobile industry， held a press conference and test drive activities for its new vehicle model T5 1.6TD 7DCT during the exhibition. Dongfeng Chenglong， a commercial vehicle brand belonging to Dongfeng Liuzhou， has been selling in Vietnam for nearly 20 years， winning the favor of Vietnamese customers with its reliable quality， economical fuel-cost and other advantages. Currently， Dongfeng Liuzhou has opened two 4S stores， two city showrooms and special maintenance factories in Ho Chi Minh. Hopefully there will be more stores in other cities in the future. In 2017， Dongfeng Liuzhous passenger vehicles debuted at SECC and received positive comments from all fields. This year， they attracted the attention of local media and industry again.

Additionally， Fujian Provincial Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export organized 23 well-known Fujian enterprises such as Fujian Haineng Electro-mechanical Technology Co.， Ltd.， Fujian Zhengde Hengtrui Electro-mechanical Technology Co.， Ltd. and Fujian Senke Chuangda Import & Export Trade Co.， Ltd. to participate in CMEPE 2019. Many of them have been engaged in the mechanical and electrical industry for many years. They have rich experience in manufacturing with leading science and technology and persistence in energy conservation and environmental protection. Their products have been widely applied in the fields of manufacturing， transportation， construction， finance， telecommunication， medical treatment and mining， receiving positive feedback from the market. This was the third time for Fujian enterprises to attend an oversea exhibition after their showcases at Myanmars and Indonesias oversea exhibitions. In the past few years， Fujian Province has been vigorously promoting the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative， actively exploring the ASEAN market and seeking ASEAN partners through CAEXPOs oversea exhibitions.

Rich events during the exhibition bearing fruitful results

Apart from displaying all the charm of the enterprises， CMEPE 2019 also held a series of wonderful events such as trade meetings and business visits， which effectively promoted the exchanges and cooperation between enterprises of the two countries.

In order to improve the trade and economic outcomes of CMEPE 2019， a special trade meeting was held on the morning of November 28， inviting local buyers to carry out the face-to-face negotiation with Chinese exhibitors. The event organizer in advance invited Vietnamese buyers who met the needs of the exhibitors for economic and trade cooperation through multiple channels， and made pre-matching according to the demands of supply and the demands of both sides， so that many cooperation could be achieved on-site.

During CMEPE 2019， the organizer organized visits to the industrial parks around Ho Chi Minh for the exhibitors and held discussions with local enterprises and representatives of Chinese enterprises that have had developed in Vietnam， sharing their experience in developing oversea markets and providing references for Chinese enterprises to “go global”.

As an international event jointly hosted by China and ASEAN， CAEXPO has become an important bridge linking China and Vietnam， playing a very prominent role in expanding Chinese enterprises investment in Vietnam， promoting Vietnamese exports to China and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results. CMEPE 2019 will also help China and Vietnam explore opportunities for cooperation in more industries and produce more practical results.
