China is famous for its world- famous tourist attractions， such as The Great Wall， Terra-Cotta Warriors Horses and the Yangtze River， which attracts millions of tourists from home and abroad. One can also find spectacular architecture and historical sites in many provinces in China. Tourism in China is booming and in recent years， tourism is a stimulus to the economy.

Tourist resources in China can be divided into three main groups: natural sites， historical and cultural sites， and folk customs. The natural sites include the famous mountains like Mount Tai， Mount Hua， Mount Huang and so on. Besides， Jiuzhaigou， Huangguoshu Waterfall， and Guilin are all located in southwestern China. Along the renowned Three Gorges of the Yangtze River are many scenic spots and historical sites. Among the historical and cultural sites， The Great Wall， a symbol of the Chinese nation， is also a prime example of historical sites that have become major tourist attractions. The best known are the Mogao Caves， a“treasure house of oriental art”， with 492 caves with murals(壁畫) and statues on the cliff faces. In addition， there are festivals and celebrations in Yunnan Province and other provinces.

However， an increasing number of tourists do pose a threat to the scenic spots，especially some historical sites， and many have to be shut to avoid the threatening tourists.

綜合練習

China is rich in tourist resources， including natural sites， historical and cultural sites as well as folk customs. Tourism is booming， which contributes to the growth of the economy. However， tourists are threatening the protection of many scenic sites.

Undoubtedly， too many tourists really do great harm to the scenic spots， especially the historical sites. Take Dunhuang for example， the murals there have been destroyed to a large extent. It is not surprising that rubbish is scattered everywhere in the scenic spots after a long or short vocation. To make matters worse， too many tourists will pose a threat to the climate as well because we use cars or planes to travel， which worsens the environment.

From my point of view， I totally agree that the local government set a limit to the number of the tourists to the historical sites every day， mainly because it can reduce the burden of the sites， which helps the local government to protect the scenic spots.

Personally speaking， tourists should all do theit bit to reduce the impact on the environment by making a few simple changes. They should obey the local rules and follow the local guidance. Besides， try to avoid visiting the sites in the peak seasons.
