Our mothers are big liars.

我們的媽媽們是大謊言家。

When we were little kids,they told lies like“If you swallow (吞；咽)a watermelon seed, it will grow inside your stomach”.

當(dāng)我們還是年幼孩童時，她們會糊弄我們說“如果你把西瓜籽吞下去，它就會在你的肚子里生根發(fā)芽”。

And they keep lying even now that we are grown up.But how can you blame a woman who sometimes lies to you because she loves you?

直到我們長大成人后，母親們?nèi)砸恢庇弥e言“哄騙”我們。然而，你又怎么能責(zé)怪因?yàn)閻勰愣鴮δ阏f謊的母親呢？

As Mother’s Day is coming,let’s take a look at some of moms’loving lies.

Nothing’s wrong;I’m fine.

沒事，我一切都好。

It’s the biggest lie.Every time you asked your mom how she was,she would put on a smile and use this lie,even when it was after a big fight with your dad or she was caught crying in her bedroom.She never told you that she was heartbroken.

這可是最大的謊言。每次你問母親最近好嗎，她都會笑著和你說“放心，我挺好的”，即使她剛剛和你的父親大吵了一架或者悶在房里哭泣，也從不告訴你她的傷心事。

You are special.

你很特別。

Moms say it a lot.And for this reason,we grew up believing that we were truly outstanding and extraordinarily (極其地)more talented and accomplished (有才華的)than our peers.Sadly,there would always come the day when we figured out that we were actually not.

母親們經(jīng)常這么說，正因如此，我們從小就認(rèn)為自己真的很優(yōu)秀并且與眾不同，比同齡人更有才華，更有成就。可惜的是，終有一天我們會發(fā)現(xiàn)自己實(shí)際上沒那么出眾。

How stupid a statement is,really,when you think about it?Sure,seeing you cry over a vaccination shot (接種疫苗),being punished or getting dumped (丟下)can be emotionally painful for your mom,but will it hurt her more than it hurts you?Anyway,it’s sweet, isn’t it?

真的，如果你仔細(xì)想想，這是多傻的想法呀？當(dāng)然，當(dāng)你因接種疫苗而哭泣時，當(dāng)你被處罰或被甩時，你的母親會感到很揪心，可是這對她的傷害難道比對你的更大？不管怎樣，這聽起來很貼心，不是嗎？

How true is this one?A recent UK survey shows that 88 percent of people who are quizzed think that their children are growing up too fast.

這話有多真呢？英國近期的一項(xiàng)調(diào)查顯示88%的被訪者認(rèn)為他們的孩子成長得太快了。

Your mom is just one of those parents who are really scared that their little boys or girls will someday outgrow them.
