1. 準(zhǔn)確讀出、拼出本課新單詞,掌握生詞及短語(yǔ)的含義。

2. 理解本課課文,流利朗讀課文。

3. 通過(guò)完成任務(wù)學(xué)會(huì)運(yùn)用查讀、跳讀等閱讀技巧。

4. 養(yǎng)成有目的地閱讀的習(xí)慣。

5. 重點(diǎn)詞匯和短語(yǔ)Mess, barber, suck, carpenter,

haircut。

6.重點(diǎn)語(yǔ)法項(xiàng)目:被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)。

二、教學(xué)過(guò)程

1. Warming-up(3mins)

Activity1:Brainstorm the information about the inventions in the pictures.

T: Look at the pictures. What are they?

S1: They are bulbs, telephones, glasses and airplanes.

T: Would you like to tell us anything about the inventions?

S2: Bulbs were invented by Thomas Edison. He invented it after doing thousands of experiments. Its a great invention.

S3: Telephones are invented by Bell. We can communicate with people around the world anywhere anytime thanks to this great inventor.

S4: Airplanes were invented by Wright brothers. We can fly like a bird in the sky because of it.

2. Pre-reading (5mins)

Activity2:Brainstorm, talk about and finish the chart about flowbee.

T: Look at this machine. What is it?

S1: Is it an air conditioner?

T: Maybe. Its name is flowbee. Please talk about it in groups and finish the chart about it. What do you know about it? What do you want to learn about it?

3.While-reading(20mins)

T: Please read the passage “A Special Machine” silently.

Activity4:Read the text after the tape.

T: Read the text after the tape. Pay attention to the pronunciation and the intonation.

Activity5:Read the passage again and underline the new words: mess, barber, suck, carpenter, haircut and write their meanings down.

T: Look at the words. Read after me. Mess, barber, suck, carpenter, haircut.

Ss: Mess, barber, suck, carpenter, haircut.

T: Read the text silently and underline the words in the text. Try to guess the meaning of the words in the sentences. Dont forget to tell us your reasons.

4. Post-reading(7mins)

Activity7:Students are divided into several groups with 5 members. Each member is given a picture(教材43頁(yè)圖片) about the passage. They are not allowed to watch others pictures. Each member has to write one or two sentences to describe his own picture and they read the sentences one by one. After all the members finish reading, they need to organize the pictures according to the text.

5. Homework(5mins)

Students are asked to compare the chart “What I want to learn” and the chart “What I have learned”. After checking the questions they still need answered, they talk about how to find the answers after class.

The purpose of the activity is to develop the students ability of going beyond the text. Train the students ability of self-learning.
