Oct. 11, 2016 (Xinhua) -- China’s Hong Kong Airlines will fly two additional services into the Gold Coast and Cairns in Australia from December delivering an extra US$ 52.86 million in tourist receipts into the sunshine state. The additional flights provided visitors from China’s mainland and Hong Kong (China) with greater access to these two of Queensland’s most popular destinations.
New airport taking shape in southern Beijing
Oct. 11, 2016 (China Daily) -- China will soon finish the construction of basic infrastructure for the new international airport in Beijing, which is expected to serve 45 million passengers annually starting in 2019. The terminal structure will be completed before the end of January and the building’s facade will be ready before the end of next year.
Tourism commodities fair in Beijing
Oct. 13, 2016 (China Daily) -- The Beijing International Tourism Commodities Fair was held on Oct. 22-24. In its fifth year, the event is hosted by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development and the central government agency China National Tourism Administration. Cosmetics from South Korea, home appliances from Japan, tropical fruits from other Asian countries and African handicrafts will be on sale.
Alibaba’s IM unit rolls out corporate travel service
Oct. 13, 2016 (China Travel News) -- Alibaba’s travel subsidiary Alitrip and corporate instant message (IM) unit DingTalk jointly inaugurated a corporate travel service. More than 1,000 partner companies have signed up for the corporate travel service during its internal pilot run. The company anticipates that around 100,000 enterprises will use its corporate travel service by the end of 2016. China has around 43 million SMEs, and the majority of DingTalk’s 2.4 million corporate users are from this range.
