My opinion on upgrading high school English learning ability

【Abstract】Nowadays， English has become the difficult problems for high school students to overcome. This article begins with the cultivation of English， and then from the perspectives of grammar， vocabulary， pronunciation and listening ability to discuss the enhancement of English ability of the students.

Introduction

1. Cultivate interest in English in many ways

To cultivate interest motivation is the internal power to achieve a certain goal by learning. With a clear motivation and a goal， there has a certain direction and driving force， English interest can be cultivated in the conscious period of time.

2. Continuously strengthen the word base， faster and remember words

The words are the priority and essential elements of English learning and the foundation of English. To have a bigger number of English words and then group them by embellishing grammar， the goal that speaking English free can be achieved. When talking about reciting words， these methods can be mentioned：

（1） Words reciting should be a method that combined with reading， writing and reciting. That is to say， the process of reading， writing and reciting are at the same time. To recite words is not only to keep the spelling of the words in mind， but also to remember the pronunciation of them. By using this method， the reciting speed can be higher and the expression of the words can be strengthened， which makes the reciting more effective and makes the memory lasting.

（2） The remembering of etyma， affixes and nominal. Some English words seems irregular， but in fact they have some different characters of properties， and if you want to learn it well， the best way is to find the internal rule， then the ability of reciting English words can be enriched.

3. Use effective methods to improve the efficiency of learning

（1） Lay a solid foundation of pronunciation and intonation

English， just like most other languages， has many different regional accents. In spite of all the English accents are the same， if you want to be more authentic. When you want to improve your pronunciation， be sure you know differences in different English accents. In addition， make sure that you focus on only one accent. So much easier and more effective to improve your pronunciation and imitating sounds.

（2） Focus on the learning of grammar and vocabulary

If you want to learn English grammar， it's first to start from sense， which means reading. According to the grammar of English words and language， as well as understanding the English grammar and Chinese grammar， we can unconsciously remember a lot of words more quickly and efficiently and then improve our ability to learn grammar.

4. Create language environments， continue to strengthen oral English ability

Exercise is the way that must be passed to improve the ability of English spoken. The purpose of learning a language is to communicate with the individual all over the world， and the most effective method to communicate is by oral expression. And the most significant thing to mention is to open your mouth and express yourself and make a breakthrough to your English. At the same time， the learner can participate the English Corner to improve his English ability and expression.

5. Enhance listening ability

In the process of improving ability in English， listening comprehension exercises should not be overlooked. The condition of learning English in China may be worse than in English-speaking countries， “hearing” can provide us with more opportunities of exposure to authentic English. There are many ways of listening English， the beginners can learn by listening to the texts of language tapes， and start from simple and familiar content practice to build confidence.

Conclusion

High school is the elementary stage to learn English， and it is the key stage to foster interest in English. If the scientific and proper methods are seized， the English speaking learning ability will be better and bring a good result throughout our life. To learn English well， we must cultivate interest in English learning， and break the restriction of the difference between different languages. The large number of language modules can be stimulated by reading， speaking and reciting inside minds， and then deepen the learning with more vocabulary and grammars. Nothing is difficult if you put your heart into it.
