【Abstract】Writing is of great importance in the English learning, and the society acquire high ability for our English writing. In English writing, consistency of semantic meaning with structure and function in English writing is a very important part to evaluate the quality of writing. And English writing is a kind of English learning style which is very particular about the effect of discourse. Using the theory of discourse coherence to guide English writing can enable students to better grasp the full text and improve their English writing ability.

1. Introduction

English learning in China has been popular in a long term, and a very important part of English learning is English writing, but English writing is the weakness of a lot of English learners, because English writing is elegant with learners of English vocabulary, grammar, structure and English comprehensive ability. English writing ability is one of the four basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing in English. English writing can effectively promote the internalization of language knowledge. Writing helps the learners to test the structure of grammar and the use of words, promote the automation of the use of language, and effectively achieve the purpose of language writing.

2. On the Theory of Discourse Coherence and the Meaning of Semantic

The meaning of data is semantics (semantic). To put it simply, the data is a symbol. The data itself has no meaning. Only the data that is endowed with meaning can be used. At that time, data is transformed into information, and the meaning of data is semantics. Semantics is a domain characteristic, and the semantics that do not belong to any field do not exist. The semantic heterogeneity refers to the differences in the interpretation of the same thing and the difference in understanding of the same thing in different fields. For computer science, semantics generally refers to users interpretation of computer representations (symbols) used to describe the real world, that is, the way users connect with computer representations and the real world. Discourse coherence theory to guide English writing, English learners can make Chinese change their inherent Chinese discourse pattern of their influence, and cultivate their English discourse awareness and thinking mode, let them understand English discourse cohesion features, sentence structure and language habits in accordance with the adjustment of paragraph level of English,. English writing full view clear, logical, semantic coherence.

3. The Methods of Improving the Teaching of Writing Ability

3.1 teacher level

(1) teachersprofessional quality and teaching level have a direct influence on the degree of students acceptance of knowledge. Teachers should constantly strengthen their professional qualities, read more, learn more and learn more about English national culture, constantly train their way of thinking in English, and try to make their English major and authentic. (2) to create a harmonious classroom environment of good English thinking, and to activate the students thinking in English learning.

3.2 learner level

If a learner wants to write a coherent article, he must constantly overcome the negative influence of his mother tongue thinking, constantly increase his vocabulary, correctly select vocabulary, grammar and sentence structure, and constantly improve his English level.

(1) increasing vocabulary and consolidating the basis of English writing. In learning English, students not only to remember English words in Chinese, but also remember the part of speech, and usage of this collocation, comparison between Chinese and English in two languages, and are familiar with and use the new vocabulary in context, grammar, semantic and discourse to reduce pragmatic coherence errors. (2) it is an effective way to improve the level of English writing by increasing the input of language and imitating the use of language.

In a word, English writing is a way of language output and an important means to test the language habits of English learners. Moreover, English teaching and learning is the collision and blending process of two cultures.
