The National Day of France

As we all know, July 14th is the national day of France. In commemoration of the people of Paris1)conqueredthe Bastille, which symbolized2)feudalrule, it overthrew the monarchy.

The National Day of France, is also called the “Bastille Day”, meaning that in July 14,1789, the people of Paris took the Bastille prison, which symbolized autocracy, the end of social rank and privilege, and became the whole French national festival in July 14, 1790.This day is a legal holiday in France.

It is generally believed that the official date of the French National Day is in 1789, but in fact it is not. Although the3)gloriousday of conquering the Bastille of Paris people was commemorating, the July 14th 1789 was once regarded as the national day. But after the restoration of the feudal dynasty in 1814, it declared July 14th a “national humiliation day”and a “murderer’s holiday”.

In 1870, the Republic was4)restored.In 1879, the Republican Party set up a government, and the parliament moved from Versailles to Paris. The following year in June,the French parliament passed the decree formally, July 14, 1880 will be France’s National Day, until today.

大家都知道7月14號(hào)是法國(guó)的國(guó)慶日，紀(jì)念巴黎人民攻占象征封建統(tǒng)治的巴士底獄，推翻君主政權(quán)。

法國(guó)國(guó)慶節(jié)，是法國(guó)的國(guó)家紀(jì)念日，也叫“巴士底日”，意指1789年7月14日巴黎群眾攻占巴士底監(jiān)獄，這一天象征專(zhuān)制、社會(huì)等級(jí)和特權(quán)的結(jié)束，并且于1790年7月14日成為整個(gè)法蘭西民族的節(jié)日。這一天是法國(guó)的法定假日。

人們通常認(rèn)為，法國(guó)國(guó)慶日的正式確定是在1789年，其實(shí)不然。雖然為紀(jì)念巴黎人民攻克巴士底獄這一光輝的日子，曾一度將1789年的7月14日作為國(guó)慶日。但1814年封建王朝復(fù)辟后，宣布7月14日為“國(guó)恥日”和“殺人犯的節(jié)日”。

1870年，法國(guó)恢復(fù)共和國(guó)，1879年，共和黨成立了政府，議會(huì)由凡爾賽遷到了巴黎。翌年6月，法國(guó)議會(huì)正式通過(guò)法令，將1880年7月14日定為法國(guó)的國(guó)慶節(jié)，直至今日。
