阿聯酋官方表示,“我們的目標是,10年后所有人都會說漢語。”從今年起,阿聯酋要在100所學校開設中文課,從小學1年級教起,直到第12年級,讓阿聯酋下一代掌握這一重要的全球性語言,打開與中國經貿往來、文化交流的大門。為此,阿聯酋以36萬元的年薪招聘漢語教師,引發了人們對“漢語熱”的再次關注。
目前,阿聯酋設有迪拜大學孔子學院和扎耶德大學孔子學院,累計為8000余名當地民眾提供漢語教學。
近年來,俄羅斯、南非、泰國、坦桑尼亞、喀麥隆、贊比亞等國家紛紛將漢語納入國民教育體系。“掌握中文,開啟未來”正成為越來越多人的共識,而孔子學院則成為各國民眾學習漢語的重要渠道。
在印度尼西亞,工作日常規教學,利用周末節假日開展各種文化交流活動,是當地幾所孔子學院教師的“常態”。得益于他們的努力和中印尼合作方的通力合作,孔子學院已成為印尼學生和民眾學習漢語和了解中華文化的園地,成為中印尼文化交流的平臺,友好合作的橋梁和紐帶,受到印尼官方肯定和民眾歡迎。
據印度尼西亞阿拉扎大學孔子學院中方院長肖祥忠介紹,孔子學院與該地區多所大學和社團建立了良好合作關系。從成立至今,開設了近400個教學班,向1萬多名大學和中學漢語學習者、印尼國防部、貿易部、警察總部等政府機構官員和國際機場員工開展多層次漢語教學,既有漢語學習的專業課程,也開設了中國書法、篆刻、剪紙、中國結、太極拳、音樂等興趣班。
該孔子學院還創新實施“走進中學”項目;結合“一帶一路”倡議舉辦“漢語+”國際研討會;舉辦“印尼中國電影周…‘青春微映絲路情印尼青年微電影節…“魅力中國,華夏風采”中國文化周等特色活動。
在菲律賓,“一帶一路”倡議為中菲廣大民眾提供了一個全新的文化交流渠道。中菲兩國以孔子學院為載體,以漢語及中華文化為依托,不斷增進兩國人民的相互了解,孔院日益成為中菲“民心相通”的橋梁。
目前,在菲律賓紅溪禮示大學、亞典耀大學、布拉卡國立大學、菲律賓國立大學等設有4所孔子學院。多年來,孔院與菲教育部密切合作,全面承擔起菲律賓公立中學體系漢語課程建設、漢語師資培訓、漢語教材編寫、漢語教學評估等任務。
孔子學院還舉辦中菲音樂節、“一帶一路”論壇、中國電影節、東盟學生夏令營等文化和教育活動,積極促進中菲關系發展。隨著孔院在菲影響力逐步擴大,漢語與中國文化也逐步深入民心。如今,越來越多的菲律賓人希望學習漢語,了解中國。
“文化交往,民心所向”
“美麗的漢語在中波之間搭起了一座友誼之橋。”近年來,包括波蘭在內的中東歐地區漢語教育逐漸升溫,孔子學院功不可沒。截至目前,中東歐16國已經建立了34所孔子學院和43個孔子課堂。
語言的背后是交流合作,是民心所向,是互相學習。作為“一帶一路”建設的積極參與者,波蘭對與中國的合作充滿期待。
“學習中文能更好地了解中國人是如何思考問題的。”“中國文化古老又迷人,中文是了解它的一把鑰匙。”“現在在波蘭的中國企業很多,學好中文將來就業機會更多。”
在華沙社會科學和人文大學的中文課堂上,當被問到為何學習中文時,來自亞洲研究專業的學生們紛紛表達自己的觀點。對于這群青年學生,中文不僅是他們的必修課,更是他們為未來儲備的一筆寶貴財富。
白俄羅斯是最早支持“一帶一路”倡議的國家之一。隨著“一帶一路”建設的開展,越來越多的白俄羅斯年輕人喜歡上了漢語和中國文化。白俄羅斯非常重視推廣漢語,目前在14所高等教育機構開設了漢語學習科目,有4所孔子學院。
在白俄羅斯國立體育大學孔子課堂,太極拳、太極推手、太極劍、太極扇、武術套路、按摩推拿等課程,同樣備受當地學生推崇。
陳浪是白俄羅斯國立體育大學的漢語教師。他說,白俄羅斯國立體育大學孔子課堂目前已經成為中白兩國教育、文化及體育聯系的重要橋梁和紐帶。中國書法、繪畫、舞蹈和武術等中華傳統文化以其獨特魅力,深受白俄羅斯民眾喜愛,大家爭相了解、學習,掀起陣陣“中國風”。
在羅馬尼亞,布加勒斯特大學孔子學院除了定期舉辦文化體驗和推廣活動外,還積極參加當地文化活動,借助當地平臺呈現中國文化的魅力,促進羅馬尼亞民眾對中國文化的了解。
在布加勒斯特大學學生會舉辦的多國“文化節”活動上,孔院學生為現場觀眾帶來了一場東方文化盛宴。靈動的《芙蓉雨》、歡快的《踏春》、悠揚綿長的《梁祝》讓現場觀眾如癡如醉。
談及對中國文化的看法,布加勒斯特大學孔子學院學生葉茹蕓說:“學習漢語是我做過的最好的選擇。漢語,是世界上最有智慧的一門語言。一旦你超越了表面,走到漢語的背后,走到它的文化深處,你的所得,是別人無法體會的。”
“一帶一路”倡議不僅是物質性的,也是精神性的;既需要經貿合作的支撐,也離不開文明互鑒的助力。孔子學院始終發揮資源優勢,為“一帶一路”的建設提供服務平臺和學術支持,讓友誼之花、文化之花沿絲路競相綻放。
巴拿馬人鐘維爾的祖父出生于中國廣東。“最近,我在孔子學院學習中文,我認為中國有豐富的文化資源,巴拿馬同樣也有很多漂亮、有趣的東西可以跟中國分享。”鐘維爾說。
鐘維爾口中的孔子學院是中國和巴拿馬自2017年6月建交后在巴拿馬建立的第一家孔院。同年9月,巴拿馬大學孔子學院正式揭牌。
“把握當下,放飛理想”
孔子學院的成立,不僅讓當地民眾接觸到漢語,了解了中國,更讓他們進一步走近中國。
“留學中國,讓我對這個國家有了深層次認知。我不僅讀了很多關于中國歷史的書,而且深入接觸中國社會,盡力把握當代中國的發展態勢。”來自埃及的李曉芳說,留學中國讓她收獲頗豐。
李曉芳到中國留學,緣起于在開羅的漢語學習。“當時,我們中文系主任也是開羅大學孔子學院的院長。”李曉芳說,“在她的建議下,我參加了漢語水平考試,最終獲得了漢語水平5級證書和孔院的獎學金。”受益于孔子學院獎學金的資助,她到中國進行為期兩年的研究生學習,讀漢語國際教育專業。
在中國學習已近1年,李曉芳說:“感覺我快變成一個中國通了。”在中國學習生活的經歷,讓她可以近距離觀察中國社會,并迸一步了解中國人的思維方式和生活方式。“去年暑假,我去了重慶和成都,體會到了中國南北方之間的差異。非常有趣!”在李曉芳看來,這種通過親身體驗加深對中國的了解,是非常有價值的,讓她受益頗多。
“我的愿望是成為漢語教師,這樣我就能教巴基斯坦人說漢語,增進兩國間的友誼。”今年23歲的明月是巴基斯坦伊斯蘭堡孔子學院的學生,她的男朋友曾到中國留學,妹妹也正在浙江工商大學學習漢語,她的目標就是像妹妹一樣,通過考試獲得獎學金,到中國留學,向夢想一步步靠近。
在學習漢語的過程中,明月對兩國合作也有自己的理解:“一帶一路”是連接沿線各國的橋梁,掌握烏爾都語、漢語、英語的自己就能成為筑牢橋梁的一塊鋼、一片瓦;“中巴經濟走廊”則為年輕人提供了更多施展抱負的機會,去實現理想、改變命運。
不少人認為中文難學。那怎么才能學好中文呢?在古巴來華留學生王富貴看來,“學在中國”是非常好的選擇。
王富貴是古巴國家翻譯局成員,掌握多門外語,曾在古巴哈瓦那大學及北京第二外國語大學學習漢語,并擔任哈瓦那大學孔子學院的翻譯和教師。此前,他在孔子學院總部舉辦的第二屆“開放日”活動中,發表了題為“我是和平愛好者”的演講。
學好中文是王富貴最想做好的事情,他深知,這個過程充滿困難,無論是翻譯還是平常的溝通都不單單需要學好中文這門語言,更要了解它背后博大精深的中國文化。“學在中國”讓他擁有了意想不到的收獲,也成為他人生中美好和難忘的經歷。
他對自己的定位是“和平使者”。“和我一樣,來華留學生懷揣夢想到中國學習,希望在中國學到更多的知識,交到新的朋友,加深對中國的了解,也希望將自己了解到的中國介紹給更多的人,為中華文化的傳播貢獻自己的力量,架起一座人文交流之橋。”
因為孔子學院,學員們體會到了漢語學習的奇妙和有趣;因為孔子學院,學員們感受到中華文化的獨特和魅力;也因為孔子學院,學員們獲得了親身接觸中國的機會,感受這里的勃勃生機與活力……

Learning Chinese Opens the Door to Future
The government of United Arab Emirates (UAE)said their goal is that all Emiratis will be able to speakChinese in 10 years. Starting from this year, UAEplans to arrange Chinese courses in 100 schools fromgrade i to 12 in order to enable the next generationof Emiratis to master this important global languageand open the door of economic, trade, and culturalexchanges to China. To reach this goal, the UAE gov-ernment is recruiting Chinese teachers at 360 thou-sand RMB per year, which has refocused the publics'attention on the popularity oflearning Chinese.
Currently, Confucius Institutes have been estab-lished at the University of Dubai and Zayed Univer-sity in UAE, offering Chinese courses to over 8000locals.
In recent years, countries including Russia, SouthAfrica, Thailand, Tanzania, Cameroon, and Zambiahave listed Chinese into their national educationsystem. It has become a consensus of more and morepeople that learning Chinese improves their futureprospects, and the Confucius Institute is an importantaccess through which people from different countrieslearn Chinese.
In Indonesia, teachers at the local Confucius Insti-tutes have been used to teaching on weekdays and or-ganizing various cultural exchange activities on week-ends and holidays. Thanks to their hard work and thejoint efforts of the cooperative partners in China andIndonesia, Confucius Insritutes have become a plat-form for Indonesian students and the public to studyChinese and to learn about the Chinese culture,bridging cultural exchanges between the two coun-tries and forging ties of friendly cooperation thatare recognized by the Indonesian government andwelcomed by the public.
Xiao Xiangzhong, Chinese Director of theConfucius Institute at the University of Al AzharIndonesia, introduced that the Confucius Institutehas established sound cooperative relations withmany local universities and communities. Sinceit was founded, the Institute has opened nearly400 classes to offer diversified Chinese lessons toover 10 thousand Chinese learners from universi-ties, middle schools, governmental institutionsincluding the Indonesian Ministry of Defence, theMinistry of Trade, and National Police, and staff ofinternational airports. The lessons covered a widerange of contents from professional Chinese lan-guage courses to Chinese calligraphy, seal carving,paper cutting, Chinese knot, Tai chi, and music.
The Confucius Institute has also initiated an in-novative program to cooperate with middle schools,hosted the \"Chinese Plus\" international seminarson the sidelines of the Belt and Road Initiative, andorganized cultural activities including the ChineseFilm Week, \"Youth Micro-screen Silk Road Situ-ation\" Indonesian Youth Micro-Film Festival, andthe Chinese Culture Week.
In the Philippines, the Belt and Road Initiativehas created a brand-new cultural exchange chan-nel for the public. China and the Philippines havecontinued to promote the understanding betweenpeople in the two countries by presenting Chineselanguage and culture with the Confucius Institutesas the platform. Confucius Institutes have graduallybecome a bridge connecting the two peoples. Currently, 4 Confucius Institutes have beenestablished in the Philippines at the Angeles Uni-versity Foundation, Ateneo de Manila University,Bulacan State University, and the University of thePhilippines. In the past few years, the ConfuciusInstitutes have cooperated closely with the Minis-try of Education of the Philippines and performedtasks including establishing Chinese course systemsin public middle schools, training Chinese teachers,compiling teaching materials and assessing Chineseteaching.
The Confucius Institutes havealso launched cultural and edu-cational activities to promote theChina-Philippines relations, in-cluding the China-PhilippinesMusic Festival, the Belt and RoadForum, Chinese Film Festival,and ASEAN Students' SummerCamp. With the growing influenceof the Confucius Institutes in thePhilippines, Chinese language andculture are also gaining popularityamong the public. Today, an in-creasing number of Filipinos wantto study Chinese and learn aboutChina.
Cultural Exchanges, Com-mon Inspiration of People
\"The beautiful Chinese lan-guage has built a bridge of friend-ship between China and Poland.\"In recent years, Chinese educationhas been gaining ground in Centraland Eastern European countriesincluding Poland, in which theConfucius Institutes have playedan indispensable role. So far, 34Confucius Institutes and 43 Con-fucius Classrooms have been estab-lished in 16 countries in Centraland Eastern Europe.
Underlying the language is thecommon inspiration of the peopleand mutual learning. As an activeparticipant of the building of theBelt and Road Initiative, Polandlooks forward to cooperating withChina.
\"Learning Chinese means betterunderstanding of how the Chinesethink.\" \"The Chinese culture isancient and intriguing, to whichthe Chinese language is a key\" \"Asthere are many Chinese enterprisesin Poland now, mastering Chinesepromises more job opportunitiesin the future.\"
In a Chinese class at the Uni-versity of Social Sciences andHumanities, Warsaw, students ma-joring in Asian studies voiced theiropinions as when asked why theystudied Chinese. For these youngstudents, Chinese is not only arequired course, but also a fortunethey save for their future.
Belarus is one of the countriesthat first supported the Belt andRoad Initiative. With the develop-ment of the Belt and Road Initia-tive, more and more young peoplein Belarus have fallen in love withChinese language and culture. Be-larus attaches great importance topromoting the Chinese languageeducation. Currently, there are 14higher education institutions thatoffer Chinese courses and 4 Con-fucius Institutes in Belarus.
In the Confucius Classroomat Belarusian State University ofPhysical Culture, courses aboutTai Chi boxing, Tai Chi wrestling,Tai Chi sword, Tai Chi fan play-ing, martial arts routine, and mas-sage have also been welcomed bythe students.
Chen Lang is a Chinese teacherat Belarusian State University ofPhysical Culture. He said thatthe Confucius Classroom hasbecome an important bridge andlink between China and Belarusin education, culture, and sports.Traditional Chinese culture suchas calligraphy, painting, dancing,and martial arts have enchantedthe Belarus people, among whomlearning about Chinese culture hasbecome a fashion.
In Romania, the ConfuciusInstitute at the Universiry of Bu-charest has actively taken part inlocal cultural activities in additionto regular cultural experiencingand promotion activities so as topresent the Chinese culture to theRomanian people on local stages.
At the Multinational CultureFestival organized by the Univer-sity of Bucharest Student Council,students at the Confucius Institutefeasted the audience's eyes witha series of performances of theoriental culture. The audience wasenamored by the graceful \"LotusRain\", cheerful \"A Spring Outing\"and the touching \"Butterfly Lov-ers .
When asked about views onChina, Ye Ruyun, a student fromthe Confucius Institute at the Uni-versity of Bucharest said, \"StudyingChinese has been one of my bestdecisions. Chinese is the wisestlanguage in the world. Once youhave explored under the surface ofthe language into the depths of theculture, you will find what otherscannot imagine.\"
The Belt and Road Initiative isnot only material, but also spir-itual. It is supported by economicand trade cooperation, and mu-tual learning among civilizationsas well. Confucius Institutes haveunderpinned the Belt and RoadInitiative as a service platform andacademic support with competitiveresources, actualizing the harvestsof friendship and cultures alongthe route of the Silk Road today.
The grandfather of ZhongWei'er, a Panamanian citizen,was born in Guangdong, China.He said, \"Recently I have beenlearning Chinese at the ConfuciusInstitute. In my eyes, China has richcultural resources, and Panama alsohas lovely and interesting things toshare with China.\"
The Confucius institute thatZhong Wei'er mentioned is the firstin Panama, founded after Chinaestablished diplomatic ties withPanama in June 2017. The Confu-cius Institute officially opened inSeptember 2017.
Learning about Present andPrepa ring for Future
The establishment of ConfuciusInstitutes has not only providedaccess for the locals to learn aboutChinese and China, but also enabledthem to further engage with China.

She came to China to studybecause of her Chinese studying inCairo. \"Our dean of the Chinese De-partment then was also the directorof the Confucius Institute at CairoUniversity,\" said Li, \"I participatedin HSK at her suggestion and ob-tained a Level V certificate alongwith a scholarship of the ConfuciusInstitute.\" Thanks to the scholarship,she came to China for a two-yearpostgraduate program to gain Masterof Teaching Chinese to Speakers ofOther Languages.
After studying for almost a yearin China, Li Xiaofang said that shefeels like almost a China hand. Herexperiences of studying and livingin China allow her to take a closerlook at the Chinese sociery and tofurther understand how the Chinesethink and live. \"I visited Chongqingand Chengdu last summer, throughwhich I learnt about the differencesbetween the north and south inChina.They are really fascinating!\"She believed that she has benefitedimmensely from the precious experi-ences of learning about China withher own eyes.
\"My dream is to be a Chineseteacher, for then I will be able toteach Pakistanis Chinese and pro-mote the friendship between the Twocountries.\" Mingyue, 23, is a studentat the Confucius Institute Islamabad.Her boyfriend studied in China,and her younger sister is now study-ing Chinese at Zhejiang GongshangUniversity. Mingyue aims to obtaina scholarship through an exam likeher sister, so that she would be ablero srudy in China and approach herdream.
In her Chinese study, Mingyuehas developed her own undersTand-ing of the cooperation between thetwo countries: the Belt and RoadInitiative is a bridge connecting thecountries along the routes, in whichshe can contribute her share withher command of Urdu, Chinese andEnglish. The China-Pakistan Eco-nomic Corridor has provided moreopportunities for young people torealize their dreams and change theirfuture.
Quite a few people view Chinese
as a language extremely hard tolearn. How to learn it well, then?The answer of Wang Fugui, a Cu-ban srudenr in China, is to study inChina. Wang Fugui, who is able tospeak many foreign languages,works at ESTI Translation Serv-ices, Cuba. He studied Chinese atthe University of Havana and Bei-jing International Studies Univer-sity and works as a translator andteacher at the Confucius Instituteat the University of Havana. In thesecond Open Day of the Con-fucius Institute Headquarter, hedelivered a speech titled \"I am APeace Lover . Wang Fugui is eager to learnChinese well. He knows that he isbound to face obstacles, as borhtranslation and everyday commu-nication require knowledge of notonly the Chinese language, butalso the magnificent and profoundChinese culture underlying it.His study in China has given himmore than he had expected andbecome unforgettable and goodexperiences in his life.
He defines himself as a messen-ger of peace. \"Just like me, stu-dents who come to China to studywith their dreams hope to learnknowledge, make new friends anddeepen their understanding ofChina, and they also wish to intro-duce the China they know to morepeople in order to help promotethe Chinese culture and build abridge of culturalf and people-to-people exchanges.\"
