Little Women is based on the American author Louisa May Alcott’s novel of the same title. The story centers around four sisters—Jo， Meg， Beth and Amy—who lived through the American Civil War （南北戰爭）.

At that time， women were not equal（平等的）to men， but Jo is brave enough to look for her own personal freedom. ?In order to become a writer， she refuses a marriage proposal（求婚）from Laurie， a rich and handsome man. As they grow up， however， they need to face many difficulties in life. “ The way the world makes it hard for even talented and brave women to succeed is one of the points the movie is very much making，” the Los Angles Times wrote. And today it’s something a lot of girls and women can relate to （產生共鳴）.
