From April 18 to 21， the 2021 BFA annual conference was held in China’s southern island province of Hainan， with the theme “A World in Change： Join Hands to Strengthen Global Governance and Advance Belt and Road Cooperation.” On the 20th anniversary of the BFA， the annual conference was notable as the first largescale international event mainly comprising in-person sessions since the COVID-19 outbreak.
