W： I guess health is important. What do you do to stay fit？

M： I used to skateboard for 3 hours every day. That wasnt keeping me fit enough， though. So Ive had a home gym put in and Ive started to spend time in there.

Welcome all of you. Im Sally， your guide for this tour of the Bicentennial Park. So lets get under way on our tour around this wonderful park. Ill start today with some general background information. There used to be a lot of factories in this area until the 1960s， so most of the exciting park space all around you was originally storehouses. The idea of building a public park here was first discussed when a property developer proposed a high-rise housing development， but the local community wasnt happy. If the land was to be cleared up， they wanted to use the site for leisure and relaxation. Residents wanted open space for outdoor activities， rather than housing or even an indoor sports complex. Now to the Bicentennial Park itself， it has two areas， a nature reserve and a formal park with man-made features and gardens. The tall blue-and-white building in front of us is called the Tower and is the center point for the formal park. It stands twelve meters high， so follow me up the stairs to where we can take advantage of the fantastic views.

This is an important job because if everything wasnt in its proper place， it would be impossible to find the information we need. The hours are on the paper you were given when you came in. Were open every day except Sundays and holidays from 9：00 am to 4：00 pm， and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8：00 am to 6：00 pm. Sometimes were open on special hours. For instance， during family week when your parents are invited to visit the school， were open every evening. If there are no questions， then Mary， Gladys and Daniel will show you around the facilities and explain everything to you.

Im Lee Minwoo from South Korea. When I was little I was very interested in English. I learned English at school. There was a good teacher who was not a native English speaker but really spoke English quite well. It was funny because I was the only student in his class—it was really a private lesson. I had an excellent coursebook. I still keep a copy of it. The front cover was red with a lovely picture， and it was very modern. Learning English was quite easy for me because the teacher was so good and he helped a lot. Also， Im quite good at learning languages. It was really enjoyable to have classes. I loved the sound of the words. I felt really proud when my spelling improved day by day and I could read a short story. In middle school， English was still my favorite subject. I even stayed in America for one year as an exchange student. I learned a lot there， not only English but different cultures.

W： I read the script about three years ago， and then we gradually gathered together a cast and all the workers. But once we started filming， it only took 6 months. The special effects took double that.

M： So when can we expect to see it in cinemas？

W： Its coming out on 14th December in America， and then a week later around the world.

M： Well， as Im from the UK， I guess Ill have to wait patiently for 7 days.

First， ask your parents to leave their car at home. I know some of you like coming to school in your parents car. Its time to make a change. Ask your parents to walk or cycle instead if theyre going somewhere close. Riding a bike helps not only the earth， but also our health. Riding a bike at 6 miles per hour， you can burn 240 or more calories an hour.

Do you like buying bottled water？ Well， I used to do that. But now I no longer drink bottled water. Its a waste of money. Also it harms the environment. Prepare a bottle that you can use again and again and drink from it.

Where do your parents usually buy fruit and vegetables？ Fruit and vegetables are often shipped hundreds of miles from other states before they reach your supermarket. Pollution is caused in this way. So why not buy them from a local farmer？

According to the fire department， the fire began early last night after the bakery closed. There seems to be a problem with the water system in the area and it is stopping the fire prevention system from turning on. Many have come from local areas with food and water to help. As far as we know， no one has been injured yet by the fire because most people have known to leave the building hours ago， but as these lucky people stand outside of their burning homes， they do not feel calm. Alex Lin is a 16-year-old boy. One day， he read about something called e-waste in the newspaper. He learned that when people buy new computers， TV sets， phones， washing machines， etc.， they simply throw the old ones away. These things are called electronic waste， or e-waste. Alex also learned that e-waste is dangerous to the environment. He decided to do something about it. To help stop e-waste， Alex got help from a charity group called WIN. WIN sends people the message about e-waste and gives people a chance to recycle and reuse their e-waste. Alex also found theres a project run by WIN that helps the environment and peoples lives. With the help of WIN， Alex saved more than 200 pounds of e-waste that was about to be thrown away. They fixed about 300 computers and gave half of them to the students in Alexs town. They also set up two computer centers for schools. Now they are trying to work with the United Nations Environment Program. The computer centers will donate computers to the poor students in Central America and Africa.
