A new study shows how sleep time influence brain health， specifically relating to stroke（中風）risks. Analyzing brain images of nearly 40，000 middle-aged participants， the study found that both short and long sleep time are connected with negative changes in brain structure. These changes are indicators of brain aging and stroke risk.

The research sees sleep as a key factor in maintaining brain health and highlights middle age as an important period for sleep habit adjustments“.Sleep is starting to become a trending topic，”Clocchiatti-Tuozzo says.“We hope this study and others can offer insight into how we can help change sleep in patients to improve brain health in years to come.”

A Good Friend

Yasins family moved from Iraq to England when he was just a young boy. Although Yasin was very nervous about going to school， but when Andrew knocked on the door that morning with a big smile on his face， saying how fun it was going to be at school， Yasin felt much better because he trusted his friend.

But when the boys got to their class， things did not go how Yasin imagined they would. Andrew was asked to take a seat at the front of the class. As the teacher introduced Yasin to the rest of the children， one boy shouted that he was a smelly foreigner. The boys and girls all laughed， and then another boy made fun of Yasins accent when he was asked to say his name.
