In July 2003 assisted by the CPAFFC， the NHK TV program Global Walk plotted and produced by the Haxen International Inc. of Japan was filmed in Beijing， Shanghai and Dalian.

Global Walk， a NHK TV program transmitted by BS-1 is broadcast globally to introduce to the viewers local conditions and customs of various countries in the world and hot social issues and trends that have attracted wide attention.

This time two programs Burgeoning Cartoon Industry in China about China's flourishing cartoon industry and China's Dalian， Emergence of a Giant Agricultural Kingdom about the development of Dalian's eco-agriculture and fishery with international-level high quality and safety were filmed in China and planned to be broadcast synchronously throughout the world in December 2003. The Japanese cartoon industry that started early and developed fast has produced many world-famous cartoonists and works. The ROK， a neighboring country of Japan， was not content to lag behind and began to train cartoonists a few years ago. This trend gradually spread to China. Quite a few universities in Beijing have set up cartoon-related specialities. Many publishing companies also began to realize cartoon industry's market potential. Throughout the country people began to pay attention to this industry. Now there are numerous cartoon fans and a great number of young people out of their fondness of cartoons have adopted the cartoon profession. Through filming the life and work of Yao Wei， a diligent young cartoonist， the program Burgeoning Cartoon Industry in China reflects the present situation of China's cartoon industry， and by introducing Beijing Cartoon and other publishing houses it traces the course of the development of China's cartoon industry and explores direction of its development and market prospects in the future.

In April 2002 the Beijing Film Institute set up the first cartoon speciality. The Japanese cartoonists think that this means that China has formally recognized the art of cartoon and is going to develop the cartoon industry. The cartoon speciality has 110 students. This time the program that filmed the students' classes and random interviews of readers of cartoons in bookstores reflects the hope on the Chinese cartoon industry placed by the Chinese young people who love cartoons and are determined to enter the cartoon profession and their ideals.

In Shanghai， the production team mainly filmed the 2003 Touring Exhibition of Cartoons in Asian and Pacific Cities. The exhibition that attracted more than 300，000 visitors was a grand gathering of the cartoon circles where there were not only Chinese cartoon editors， young Chinese determined to embrace the cartoon profession and Chinese cartoon fans， but also Japanese cartoonists who had come to have exchanges with their Chinese counterparts， betokening a bright future of the Chinese cartoon industry.

The broadcast of this program has enabled the world to know about the current situation and development of China's cartoon industry， a flourishing industry that has a large market in China. Through this program， more foreign cartoonists and businessmen will be attracted to have exchanges and cooperation and jointly promote the development of China's cartoon industry with their Chinese counterparts.

In recent years China's economy has developed rapidly. Dalian City of Liaoning Province has achieved an amazing annual growth rate of 12% for several consecutive years. Great changes are taking place in its suburbs where by making use of land in a large scale and the natural environment fresh food production is developing vigorously. What has particularly attracted wide attention is that Dalian takes the lead in China in developing pesticide-free organic agriculture by making use of natural fertilizer. The Han Wei Group， one of the enterprises in the suburb of Dalian， is China's largest egg producing enterprise whose food safety， modern equipment and intensive production rank the first of its kind in China， its output of eggs occupying first place in the world. Han Wei is called \"egg king\" in China. His business operation has attracted food producers' attention in the world. Now Han has expanded his business to fresh seafood including abalone cultivation and organic fertilizer production. Dalian's agriculture with its goals of entering overseas markets has achieved an amazing development by making full use of its good natural environment. The program China's Dalian， Emergence of a Giant Agricultural Kingdom by introducing the Han Wei Group shows the development of private enterprises in Dalian.

The program filmed the Han Wei Group's chicken farm in the suburb of Dalian that produces 7 million eggs annually. At its start， this private enterprise had only 50 hens and a single-room farm. Aided and supported by the government in the past 20 years， the farm now has developed into the largest chicken farm in the world. During the interview Han Wei expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Dalian Municipal Government. It is owing to the government's policy of developing eco-agriculture and fostering private enterprises that the Han Wei Group and other private enterprises have been able to develop to such a large scale.

This program will help people change their impression of Dalian， a well-known city of heavy industries， and know more about the development of the city's agriculture and fishery. The program that presents to the world Dalian's charm， its vast areas， beautiful natural scenery and advanced agriculture and fishery is helpful to Dalian in attracting investments and tourists and in developing eco-agriculture jointly with professionals of various countries.
