China is ready to kick off the mostadvanced supper high-voltage grid，in order to realize a power trans-portation in a cross-areas， long distance andwide range way， so as to relieve the powerthirst in many cities and rural areas in thecountry.

Wang Min， spokesman of State GridCorporation of China said that the First Ses-sion of the State Energy Sources LeadingGroup has giventhe approval tobring the researchof the supper highvoltage and thepilot and demon-strative project ofsupper high volt-age into the keypoints of the en-ergy source workin this year andthe next year.

The currenttop level of highvoltage powersupply of China's backbone grid is 500 kv ofalternating current， its longest distance ofpower transportation is 500 km. But the sup-per high-voltage grid to be constructed willbe with 1000 kv of alternative current and800 kv of direct current. It can be availed totransport the power to a distance of 1000 kmto 1500 km and to adjust power suppy in awider range in accordance with the east-westtime difference and north-south temperaturedifference. The supper high voltage grid willreduce new construction of 20 million kv ofpower generating machine group when it isconstructed， the complicated power savingwill be more than 100 billion kv per hour.

Wang Min revealed that State Grid Cor-poration of China is actively preparing forthe construction of the polit and demonstra-tive project of the super high-voltage grid，and is trying to get the approval to launchthe project within this year.
