The completion ceremony of photographing China’s land neighbours of the TV series Neighbours, jointly sponsored by the CPAFFC, the Harbin Municipal People’s Government and the Harbin Television Station, was held on October 24, 2005 in the auditorium of the CPAFFC. Chen Haosu, president of the CPAFFC, Zhang Guihua, vice mayor of Harbin and Kholiknazarov Khudoberdi, chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Tajikistan, attended and spoke at the ceremony.
With the active support of the Chinese embassies and consulates in the countries concerned, the 13 embassies of China’s neighbouring countries in China, namely Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, and relevant departments and personages, the shooting team of the TV series, taking “building a good-neighbourly relationship and partnership” as its theme and “visiting good neighbours, greeting good friends and making good partners” as its interview guide, has traveled more than 50 thousand kilometres in 6 months and shot over 60 groups of materials, out of which 30 parts of the TV series have been completed. The TV series Neighbours vividly reflects the traditional friendship between the people of China and its neighbouring countries. It is a new bridge of friendship between China and its close neighbours.
In his speech, CPAFFC President Chen Haosu pointed out, China, a country with many neighbours, takes “building good-neighbourly relations” as the number one theme of its relations with foreign countries. In the new century, China adheres to its foreign policy of building a good-neighbourly relationship and partnership with neighbouring countries and seeks security through mutual trust and cooperation through mutual benefit. With the desire of creating an amicable, secure and prosperous neighborhood, China is committed to establish consolidated state relations with its surrounding countries. Such new type of state relations with peace, development and cooperation as the banner is exerting positive and great influence on contemporary international relations.
After photographing China’s land neighbours of the TV series Neighbours, the shooting team of the Harbin TV Station will go to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and Indonesia to photograph China’s sea neighbours.
At the completion ceremony, CPAFFC President Chen Haosu presented souvenirs to all the members of the shooting team and had a picture taken with them.
