Ｉｎｔｅｒｎａｔｉｏｎａｌ Ｄａｙ ｏｆ Ｓｏｌｉｄａｒｉｔｙ ｗｉｔｈ ｔｈｅ Ｐａｌｅｓｔｉｎｉａｎ Ｐｅｏｐｌｅ Ｍａｒｋｅｄ

The CPAFFC and the China-Arab Friendship Association held a reception on November 28， 2005， the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Present at the reception were Ismail Amat， NPC Standing Committee vice chairman， Wang Yunze， CPAFFC vice president， Zakaria Abdul-Rahim， Palestinian ambassador to China， Abdullah Zaher Al-Hussni， chairman of the Arab Ambassadors Council in China， leading members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs， the International Department of the CPC Central Committee， the Ministry of National Defense and the Islamic Association of China as well as diplomats of the embassies of Arab countries in China. Vice President Wang Yunze and Ambassador Zakaria made speeches.

Wang Yunze said， “The core of the Middle East issue is the Palestinian issue. We believe， holding political negotiations on the basis of relevant U.N. resolutions and the principle of land for peace and establishing an independent Palestinian state according to the Road Map are the right ways to solve the problem. It is in the fundamental interests of both Palestine and Israel as well as the people of all countries in the Middle East. It is conducive to an early realization of peace and stability in the region， and should be the goal which needs concerted efforts of the international community and all sides concerned.” He expressed， China will， as always， support the Palestinian people’s just cause and the Middle East peace process， and together with all the international peaceloving forces， continue to play a constructive role in the realization of peace in the region. He firmly believed， as long as the Palestinian people strengthen their unity and insist on peace talks， with the concerted efforts of the international community as well as the concern and support of the peace-loving people all over the world， the legitimate national rights of the Palestinians will surely be restored and the just cause of founding a Palestinian state will surely be crowned with victory.

Ambassador Zakaria said， consensus has been reached on the part of Palestine that they would actively cooperate with the U.N. and the international community to solve the Palestinian issue politically and establish a Palestinian state which would coexist with Israel. He expressed that on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People， the Palestinians felt happy from the bottom of their hearts， as they truly felt that people of the world sympathize with them for their misfortunes， support their just cause， and hope that the Palestinians can be the masters of their own country and enjoy a free and independent life in the near future. Zakaria thanked and expressed his appreciation of the Chinese side represented by the CPAFFC， for its longtime support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate national rights.
