WASHINGTON， DC， August 2， 2007-The US-ChinaBusiness Council (USCBC) today released the full analysis ofUS exports to China from all 435 districts in the US House ofRepresentatives. \"This report illustrates the widespread benefitsto the US economy that have resulted from growing US exportsto China，\" said USCBC President John Frisbie. \"The report alsoacts as a reminder to Congress to keep the benefits of trade inmind when crafting legislation that may affect the US-Chinacommercial relationship，\" Frisbie continued.

The analysis， undertaken by the Trade Partnership，quantifies exports to China from 2000-the year before Chinajoined the World Trade Organization-through 2006 from everycongressional district in the 110th Congress.

Highlights from the report:

Overall US exports to China grew 240 percent from2000 through 2006;

Agricultural exports: In Alabama's 2nd congressionaldistrict， exports rose 400 percent during the 2000-06 period; thetop export category in 2006 was crop production. Tennessee's4th district also exported more agricultural goods to China in2006 than any other type of good; the district's exports to Chinaincreased more than 1，600 percent from 2000 through 2006;

Computers electronics: Exports to China fromColorado's 4th district increased 235 percent from 2000-06，with computers and electronics the top export category in 2006.Texas' 32nd district (Dallas County) exported almost $450million in computers and electronics equipment to China in2006; exports to China from this district grew 374 percent from2000 to 2006;

Chemicals: Indiana's 5th district exported chemicalsworth $57 million in 2006; overall exports to China were up156 percent from 2000 through 2006. Chemicals were also thetop 2006 export from Missouri's 3rd district; exports were upmore than 500 percent from this district from 2000-06;

Manufactured goods， transportation equipment:Machinery manufactures were the top export category in 2006of Oklahoma's 1st congressional district; exports to China fromthis district grew 110 percent in the 2000-06 period. Michigan's 12th district exported $143 million worth of transportationequipment to China in 2006; the district's export growth from2000-06 was 389 percent.

The report is the latest in a series of analyses by theUSCBC intended to help inform the debate about trade withChina. The USCBC released an analysis of US exports to Chinaby US state earlier this year.
