2008 marks the 25th anniversary of the publication of Voice of Friendship. On December 15, a meeting in celebration of the occasion was held at the Friendship Museum of the CPAFFC. CPAFFC President Chen Haosu, Vice Presidents Li Xiaolin, Jing Dunquan and Li Jianping, and Secretary General Luo Qin, among over 40 people, attended the meeting and extended warm congratulations. In their speeches, President Chen Haosu and Vice President Li Xiaolin fully affirmed the work of the Editorial Board and its contribution to promoting mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and other countries over the past two and a half decades.
As the journal of the CPAFFC, an important people organization engaged in people-to-people diplomacy in China, Voice of Friendship adopts the Association’s purposes of enhancing people’s friendship, furthering international cooperation, safeguarding world peace and promoting common development as its own and works hard to publicize China and the work of the CPAFFC. Since the first issue published in June 1983, Voice of Friendship has carried articles about China’s reform and opening up in various fields and covered all major events and activities organized by the Association, enabling friendship-with-China organizations and personages of other countries in the world to know more about China, about the Chinese people and the CPAFFC. Our friends in other countries have also contributed to Voice of Friendship, sharing their views and the experiences of their China visit with our readers throughout the world. Voice of Friendship has facilitated the exchange of information between the CPAFFC and friendship-with-China organizations in other countries.
By the end of 2008, 152 issues, both Chinese and English editions, of Voice of Friendship have been published.
At the meeting the staff of the Editorial Board thanked all those who had cared for and supported its work over the years and expressed the willingness to work with added efforts to enrich the contents of Voice of Friendship and make the reading more enjoyable.
