The relationship cross the Strait stays stable. Recently，Hu Jintao， president of PRC， and Lian Zhan， formervice-president of Taiwan and former president of Kuo-mintang， met in Singapore. And it is reported that bothsides had a discussion and formally signed this long-waitingCross-Strait Economic Co-operation Framework Agreement(ECFA). Not long after that， it was learned that both sides crossthe Strait signed a MOU on banking industry supervision andcooperation. The signing of this MOU starts the negotiationon mutual-opening of banking and financial services industrycross the Strait.
