Origin起源

The 63rdUN Assembly on December 5th,2008 passed the 111stresolution that June 8this“World Ocean Day”since 2009.The UN hopes that all nations can take this opportunity to pay attention to oceans on which we depend, to explore the values of them,and to discover problems caused by global pollution and over-consumption of fish resources.2008年12月5日第63屆聯合國大會通過第111號決議，決定自2009年起，每年的6月8日為“世界海洋日”。聯合國希望世界各國都能借此機會關注人類賴以生存的海洋，體味海洋自身所蘊含的豐富價值，同時也審視全球性污染和魚類資源過度消耗等問題給海洋環境和海洋生物帶來的不利影響。

Significance意義

The establishment of“World Ocean Day”forms a platform for international community to face oceanic challenges.It also provides new changes to promote importance of oceansand people’s oceanic awareness.“世界海洋日”的確立，為國際社會應對海洋挑戰搭建了平臺，也為在中國進一步宣傳海洋的重要性、提高公眾海洋意識提供了新的機會。
