摘 要:本文通過展示一堂成功的閱讀理解訓練與寫作課相結合的案例,提出在農村高中,利用有限的教學資源最大限度的提高學生的聽說讀寫能力是農村英語教學取得成功的必由之路。

筆者承擔的是人教版高中英語選修(7)第四單元的課文A BIOGRAPHY OF ISSAC ASIMOV的教學任務,這是一篇人物傳記,筆者備課時的初衷就是讓學生學完這篇課文后,可以利用課文中提供的短語,句型以及阿西莫夫的一些基本信息,自己寫一篇關于阿西莫夫的120字以內的英語小短文。這樣做有三個目的:一是讓學生不斷鞏固和強化訓練學到的短語和句型;二是訓練學生提取主要信息的能力;《高中英語新課程標準》對學生閱讀能力(六級)的要求是:(1)能從一般文章中獲取和處理主要信息;(2)能理解文章主旨和作者意圖。三是訓練學生的寫作能力,《高中英語新課程標準》對學生寫作能力(八級)的要求是:(1)能根據所讀文章進行轉述或寫摘要;(2)能根據用文字及圖表提供的信息寫短文或報告。從認知角度來看,聽和讀是話語理解和信息輸入的能力,說和寫是表達思想,是信息輸出的技能。”
筆者的教學環節和具體操作如下。
(1)檢查預習:翻譯以下短語(旨在為后面小作文的寫作做好短語的積累)。①一位科學家兼作家,a scientist and writer;②因……而非常出名,be best known for;③在……歲時,at the age of…;④經營商店,run a store;⑤兼職,work part-time;⑥獲得碩士學位,gain a master`s degree.
(2)導入:通過由阿西莫夫的名著I,Robot改編的同名電影《機械公敵》的劇照導入課文。
(3)略讀:快速閱讀課文并回答下列問題(旨在為后面小作文的寫作做好內容的積累)。①What is he and what is he famous for?(答案:He is an American scientist and writer who is famous for his science fiction stories.);②When was he born and how old was he when he died?(答案:He was born on 2 January,1920 and he was died at the age of 72.);③What king of person do you think he is and what did his life like?(答案:He is a gifted and productive man who led a busy and full life.)
(4)精讀:仔細閱讀課文并補全下面圖表內容(同Step3,旨在為后面小作文的寫作做好內容的積累)。(表1)
(5)自我檢測:1)找出課文中用來描寫人物的句型(旨在為后面小作文的寫作做好句型的積累),學生找到的句型如下:① sb.is a/an…who…;②sb.is best known for…;③sb’s life began/ended in…;④at the age of…等等;2)寫作:根據課文內容,以小組為單位寫一篇介紹阿西莫夫的120字以內的短文。(提示:結合step1里面短語,step3里的問題及答案,step4里的圖表內容和step5里的句型結構)。
經過當堂指導和修改,一組同學的作品如下:Isaac Asimov was an American scientist and writer who was born in Russia on January,1920.He was the oldest child of his parents,who had three children in all.So at the age of 9,he started working part-time in his parent’s candy store.But he was so hardworking and talented that he got a master degree in chemistry in 1941.he even gained his PhD in chemistry.In his early life,he worked on all kinds of jobs,such as teacher,chemist and so on.However,he is best known for his science fiction stories. Unluckily,the productive writer died at the age of 72 as a result of HIV infection.
本文亮點:第一,題目覆蓋面廣。閱讀題目設置覆蓋面廣,從短語—句子—句型,有精讀題目,有對全文內容理解的題目,也有作者的客觀評價題,從而全方位訓練了學生的閱讀能力。第二,步步為營。每一道題目設置都不是隨意的,所設置的題目不僅是為提高閱讀理解能力服務的,更是為了最后的小作文作短語、句型和內容方面的積累的。
課后老師和學生對本節課的評價都不錯,筆者將繼續沿著這條思路,為提高本班的英語閱讀和寫作能力努力。
