基本語(yǔ)法（單元3、4）

形容詞和副詞等級(jí)的用法

英語(yǔ)中大多數(shù)形容詞和副詞都有三個(gè)等級(jí)：原級(jí)、比較

級(jí)和最高級(jí)。

一、原級(jí)的用法

1. 只能修飾原級(jí)的詞：very，quite，so，too

My brother runs so fast that I can’t follow him.

He is too tired to walk on.

2. 原級(jí)常用的句型結(jié)構(gòu)：

（1） “A + as + 原級(jí) + as + B”表示“A和B一樣”。

Tom is as old as Kate.

Tom runs as fast as Mike.

（2） “A + not + as/so + 原級(jí) + as + B”表示“A不如B”。

This room is not as/so big as that one.

He doesn’t walk as/so slowly as you.

二、比較級(jí)的用法

1. 比較級(jí)常用的句型結(jié)構(gòu)：

“A + 比較級(jí) + than + B”表示“A比B……”。

Tom is taller than Kate.

I got up earlier than my mother this morning.

2. 可以修飾比較級(jí)的詞：

much，a lot，far，“……的多”；a little，a bit，“……一點(diǎn)兒”；even，still，yet，“更加、愈加”。

Lesson One is much easier than Lesson Two.

Tom looks even younger than before.

三、最高級(jí)的用法

1. 最高級(jí)常用的句型結(jié)構(gòu)：

“the + 最高級(jí) + of +人/物 /in + 地點(diǎn)”。

He is the tallest of all the boys

He works hardest in his class.

注意：副詞的最高級(jí)前定冠詞the可以省掉。

2. the + 序數(shù)詞 + 形容詞的最高級(jí) + 單數(shù)名詞

The Yellow River is the second longest river in China.

3. one of + the + 形容詞的最高級(jí) + 復(fù)數(shù)名詞

He is one of the cleverest students in our class.

4. 特殊疑問(wèn)詞 + be + the + 最高級(jí) + A，B，or C？，用于三者以上的比較。

Which season do you like （the） best， spring， summer or autumn？

四、級(jí)別的轉(zhuǎn)換

1. 原級(jí)與比較級(jí)的轉(zhuǎn)換

（1） 倍數(shù) + as... as = （倍數(shù)-1） + 比較級(jí) + than

This room is five times as big as that one.

= This room is four times bigger than that one.

（2） not as... as 與比較級(jí)的轉(zhuǎn)換

A + not as... as + B = A + 反義詞的比較級(jí) + than + B

= B + 比較級(jí) + than + A

This book is not as expensive as that one.

= This book is cheaper than that one.

= That book is more expensive than this one.

2. 比較級(jí)與最高級(jí)的轉(zhuǎn)換

（1） the + 最高級(jí) + of/in……

（2） 比較級(jí) + than + any other + 單數(shù)名詞

the other + 復(fù)數(shù)名詞

anyone else

any of the other + 復(fù)數(shù)名詞

（3） Nobody else + 比較級(jí) + than……

Tom is the tallest boy in our class.

Tom is taller than any other boy in our class.

Tom is taller than anyone else in our class.

Nobody else is taller than Tom in our class.

五、級(jí)別的慣用法

1. “比較級(jí) + and + 比較級(jí)”表示“越來(lái)越……”。

He is getting taller and taller.

2. “the +比較級(jí)，the +比較級(jí)”表示“越……，越……”。

The more careful you are， the fewer mistakes you’ll make.

3. “A + be + the + 比較級(jí) + of the two + ……”表示“A是兩者中較……的”。

Look at the two boys. My brother is the taller of the two.

4. 當(dāng)形容詞的最高級(jí)前有物主代詞、名詞所有格、指示代詞時(shí)，不用定冠詞the。

This is my best book of all.

5. 作比較的前后兩部分必須是同類(lèi)比較。

My pencil is longer than yours.

形容詞和副詞等級(jí)的構(gòu)成規(guī)則

一、規(guī)則變化

1. 一般在詞尾直接加-er或-est：

tall—taller—tallest，long—longer—longest。

2. 以不發(fā)音的字母e結(jié)尾的單詞在詞尾直接加-r或-st：

nice—nicer—nicest。

3. 以輔音字母加y結(jié)尾的單詞，變y為i，再加-er或-est：

heavy—heavier—heaviest。

4. 重讀閉音節(jié)，末尾只有一個(gè)輔音字母，雙寫(xiě)這個(gè)輔音

字母，再加-er或-est：

big—bigger—biggest。

注意：big/red/wet/hot/sad/thin/fat等要雙寫(xiě)末尾輔音字母。

5. 部分雙音節(jié)詞和多音節(jié)詞在原級(jí)前分別加more和most

構(gòu)成比較級(jí)和最高級(jí)：

beautiful—more beautiful—most beautiful。
