Tool and hardware retailers are set to benefit hugely at THABS this year. As component show of the internationally renowned Southern African International Trade Exhibition(SAITEX), THABS brings together hardware, buildware and tool suppliers from around the world.
South Africa is a deloping country with medium income. The country’s GDP accounts for 22% of the entire Africa, foreign trade accounted for 24%. It is the most developed country in African continent, and China’s premier trade partner in Africa. The three pillar industries in the country are mining industry, manufacturing industry, and agriculture.
The hardware retail sector is a vital conduit for products, equipment and supplies to local SME businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs in the region. THABS will showcase a comprehensive and diverse range of products including power tools and machine tools, hand tools and implements, nails, wire, steel rods, diamond abrasives and saw blades, electrical supplies and woodworking equipment, welding gear, workshop machinery, building materials, and thousands of other items.
Since 1993, the THABS has been organized for 20 sessions. In 2013, SAITEX attracted 3,021 kinds of products and 15,253 visitors from 53 countries, including trade visitors from 21 countries. Prospective SAITEX visitors have access to an easy-to-use, internet-based business matchmaking programme, a unique, free service provided by the organisers. It offers exhibitors and visitors the ability to preprofile, pre-select and pre-schedule meetings for all three days of the shows.
