2008年4月22日晚9點,重慶乘客汪陵奇乘坐飛機從重慶飛往貴陽出差,飛行途中使用洗手間時,遇到氣流顛簸,不小心撞在了洗手間折疊門的角上,當場眼鏡片破碎刺傷左眼,下飛機后到醫院檢查、治療,最終左眼失明。
不同身體狀況乘坐飛機應特別注意哪些問題
飛機出行舒適便捷,對于普通人來說是最好的出行方式,但并不適用所有人。即使是你擁有的公務機,想帶父母搭乘公務機游玩,或者身體不適時堅持飛行辦公,可能也要你的空服人員和私人醫生點頭才可以。

假如你有上述病史,不論程度如何,在乘坐飛機之前都要更加注意自己的身體狀況。最簡單的措施,就是在出行之前針對自身疾病準備好相關藥品,這樣能有效應對突發的危險。對于心臟病、高血壓患者,在身體一般狀況較好時,都是可以乘坐飛機旅行的。特別是大中型公務機,或民航客機商務艙、頭等艙,因為寬敞的空間、舒適的座椅、平穩的飛行,這些更有益于個人健康。相對而言,有上述病史者要盡量避免乘坐較為狹窄的小型飛機。

如何對抗飛機上的干燥?
不管搭乘飛機去度假還是洽公,每個人都想神采奕奕地走下飛機。但在抵達目的地前,得經歷比沙漠還干燥的機艙環境。如果經過數小時的飛行,又沒有及時保養,就會導致膚色暗沉、毛孔粗大等現象。此外,干燥的環境還會讓敏感的人鼻子難受,像感冒一樣打噴嚏,甚至流鼻血。怎樣才能避免此類狀況產生呢?

How to prevent baby from crying on the airplane?
You may have had your moments when you bring your baby on a flight. The baby will more than likely cry, sometimes not stop until landing, and will be more difficult to pacify. You could be worried about your baby while agitated that it will spoil the journey, but babies cry for a reason. Their ears can often be uncomfortable after take-off and before landing due to the changes in cabin air pressure which may cause drumming or aching ears. As babies could not relieve the discomfort by chewing gum or swallow saliva like adults, crying is their only means to express, or to some extent, ease their discomfort.
Some simple plans before the flight can ensure a less stressful journey. The most effective pacifier for almost all babies is being fed with milk or water, or given a pacifier to suck on, in particular during take-off and landing. If you forget to bring a pacifier, feeding water will have the same effect. You could also prepare some fancy toys or colored illustrated books as a distraction. Make sure to bring pacifiers, nappies, and toys if you are set for a long haul flight, as babies could easily get bored. Business jets offer more services for kids than scheduled flights. You could, for example, arrange for non-stop flights to reduce the times of take-off and landing. You could also order baby meals and safety seats that are not provided on scheduled flights.

How to deal with turbulence?
Turbulence is as commonplace to flight as traffic jam is to ground transportation. Business jet offers more space and freedom than scheduled flights, which at the same time resaltsin a higher possibility of getting injured during turbulence.
A preferred option during turbulence is of course to remain at seat and buckle up. It is not advised to read meeting briefings or financial reports though, as turbulence will cause discomfort of your eyes, dizziness or nausea. You may close your eyes for a break or watch the views to ease the stress.
If you are not in a seat or are using the lavatory during turbulence, grab the nearest fixed object instead of returning to your seat. If you wear glasses, take them off to avoid secondary injury.
If you fall, don’t attempt to get up, because you might fall again. The right approach is to grab the fixed object closest to you and call your companion or crew to help you up when turbulence is over. Similarly, if others fell, wait until the turbulence is over before you rush to help.
If you are seriously wounded, ask the crew to check as they are trained for simple medical treatments. If no medication is available, an ice bag could ease pain for a while. Don’t imitate the tough guys in movies who kill pain with liquor, because liquor will only accelerate your blood circulation to make the wound worse and more painful. If first aid is not adequate, turn back or stop at the nearest airport for hospitalized care. Insisting on the original flight plan may lead to deterioration of the injury leading to lifelong regrets. After all, health is the most important asset for your success.

How to decide if you are fit to fly?
Despite the convenience and comfort of flying, not everyone is fit to travel by air. If you own a business jet and you want to travel with your parents or continue to fly when you are unwell, you will need the crew or your private doctor to give the nod before taking-off.
Beware if you or your family has a record of heart disease or high blood pressure, because the changes of air pressure may worsen the disease showing symptoms of higher blood pressure, lower cardiac output, and difficulty to breath, which sometimes may endanger your life. Air travel may also increase the possibility of recurrent congestive heart failure, myocardial ischemia, pulmonary hypertension, or complicating high blood pressure. Cerebrovascular disease such as cerebral embolism, cerebral hemorrhage, and brain tumor may be complicated by the noise, vibration, and low oxygen level of the cabin environment. Diabetic patients should think twice before flying, as low air pressure and oxygen level will stimulate gluconenogenesis, leading to extremely high blood, often 4 times higher than normal level, coma or even death.
If you have or had the above diseases, be it light or heavy, monitor your health conditions closely before taking a flight. A simple method is to prepare medicine for in case of emergent need. Patients with cardiac disease or high blood pressure can travel by air if their health conditions are well. Large or medium business jets, or business or first class of commercial airlines that offers more space, comfortable seat, and stable flight are recommended for people with the above mentioned diseases.
Of the above, diabetic patients are more vulnerable to disease recurrence. It is highly recommended for diabetic travelers to assess personal wellness. Cancel the flight plan if blood glucose level could not be reduced.
How to protect your skin in the dry cabin?
For business or for leisure, you would always want to get off the airplane refreshed and energetic. But if you have stayed in a cabin drier than in a desert for hours without taking care of your skin, you will end up with a dull skin with enlarged pores. Your nose will also feel uncomfortable – either cough or bleed. How can you prevent this?
Skin protection should start before you get on board, preferably a good wash before you leave home. If you flight is less than 5 hours, some moisturizing spray would be enough. Ladies are advised to wear light make-up, or not at all, because make up will prevent skin from breathing which in turn will secret too much oil in the dry cabin. If make-up is necessary, wear a layer of moisturizer before putting on foundation.
But don’t over-clean either. If you washed all the oil away, you skin will be too dry for the cabin environment. Essence is believed by many as very effective in the cabin as it is absorbed quickly. But in fact, it is absorbed not by your skin but by the dry air while taking away the already few water in your skin. When the relative humidity is lower than your skin, liquid moisturizers will only lead to water loss. So do not use essence, if you do, follow with lotion or cream to lock the water in.
Facial mask is an effective way to moisturize your skin on board, in particular before a business meeting, as it can uplift your face condition and energy level. It is not recommended to use gel or moisturizing masks in case you doze off and the mask takes away all the water. Night masks with oil elements or wash free masks are the best options.
