Wanda Buys Stake in Atletico Madrid

January 21， Beijing： Wang Jianlin （center）， chairman of Dalian Wanda Group， holds up his own Atletico Madrid jersey with Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo （right） and Managing Director Miguel Angel Gil after a signing ceremony. Chinas top real estate developer， Wanda Group announced an investment of 45 million euros （$52 million） for a 20 percent stake in the Spanish football Club Atletico Madrid， marking the first time a Chinese company has invested in a top-flight European football club. Wang Jianlin， chairman of the Dalianbased property giant， hopes the deal will provide greater opportunities for young Chinese football players to meet and contend with the worlds top tier football clubs. And they want to train more homegrown football players and narrow the gap between China and the rest of the world. The two partners will jointly invest 30 million euros to build youth training centers in Madrid. Graffiti on Dismantled Shikumen Buildings

January 20， Shanghai： A graffito on the wall of a dismantled building in Shikumen area. More than 10 works of graffiti art appeared on ruins of the dismantled traditional buildings. They were done by French street artist Julien Malland and his Chinese partner， portraying vivid images of local residents. Unlike paintings in galleries， the graffiti art beautifully combines aesthetics with commentary on life. The works have renewed childhood memories and struck chords in the hearts of many locals whose families have lived in the city for generations. Thousand-Hand Repair

January 9， Chongqing Municipality： Workers repair a statue of Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara on Baoding Mountain in Dazu district. The statue was created in the Southern Song Dynasty （1127-1279） and remains a major attraction amongst Dazu rock carvings featuring some of the worlds most valuable cultural heritage. Chinese Ministry of Transport predicts a total of 2.807 billion trips to be made during this years 40-day Spring Festival travel rush， which began on February 4 and will last until March 16. Kicking off every year about fourteen days before the Spring Festival holiday， the travel spree， known as “Chunyun” in Chinese， is considered the worlds largest human migration， with hundreds of millions of Chinese people traveling home. Sweetest Street Created for Sweetest Wishes

January 20， Chengdu， Sichuan Province： Graphic artists Craig & Karl have created the worlds sweetest street by covering Chengdu Street with 13 tons of candy. The 14，000-squarefoot candy carpet blooms with sugary images of flowers， good luck symbols， and pandas， which are native to the area. Over five days， more than 2，000 volunteers meticulously assembled the candy carpet. Called “Sweet as One，” the exhibition aimed to bring awareness to the plight of underprivileged children in rural areas as well as celebrate the coming Chinese New Year in a happy and colorful way. Organizers are donating 15，000 meals and the candy from the installation to underprivileged children around Chengdu （the candies are individually wrapped to protect them from rain and street grime）.
