美國節(jié)日面面觀

美國的節(jié)日很多,既有圣誕節(jié)、萬圣節(jié)這種“地球人都知道”的節(jié)日,也有許多不為同學(xué)們所熟知的節(jié)日。那么我們就一起搜羅一下美國下半年里有哪些這樣的節(jié)日吧。
Independence Day獨立日
Independence Day is one of the m ajor1U.S.legal2holidays,July 4, America’s most important non-religious holiday,the equivalen t3of other countries,“National Day”.On this day,there are often large-scale fireworks,concerts and parades4and the contests of eating watermelons and eating hot dogs.These lively activities often attract men and women,old and young.
獨立日是美國主要法定節(jié)日之一。獨立日定在7月4日,為美國最重大的非宗教節(jié)日,相當于其他國家的“國慶日”。在這一天一般會舉行大規(guī)模的煙火表演、音樂會和游行活動,還有吃西瓜、吃熱狗大賽。男女老少常常會被這些熱鬧的活動所吸引。

Labor Day勞動節(jié)
It honors1all working peop le in the U.S.and Canada.It began with a New York City parade in 1882 and is now celebrated on the first Monday in September.It doesn’t have the same time as our country.Now Labor Day is considered more as the last summer.A lot of peop le with their family travel and enjoy a wonderful holiday in the countryside.All organs2, schools close.In some areas people will hold fireworks party or free barbecue3dinner.The bosses of company often ask their emp loyees4to have a picnic.
該節(jié)日的設(shè)立是為了表示對美國和加拿大所有勞動人民的尊敬。它始于1882年紐約市游行,現(xiàn)在定為每年9月的第一個星期一,這與我們中國的勞動節(jié)時間不同。現(xiàn)在,勞動節(jié)更多被認為是夏日的尾聲,很多人舉家出行,在郊外享受美好的假期。所有機構(gòu)、學(xué)校都不開門,一些地區(qū)會舉辦焰火晚會或者免費的燒烤聚餐,公司老板也往往邀請他們的員工去野餐。
