為未來人類護航的公民陪審團

現如今，在快節奏生活的催化下，大多數人整天忙忙碌碌，為日常事務四處奔走，為家庭、為事業、為金錢？？現實的殘酷迫使我們只關注眼前的利益，根本沒有時間停下腳步來為未來的人們作考慮。針對這一情況，英國哲團，為未來的人類發言，以保證人類的可持續發展。

So， I think we’ve become a lot better recently at thinking globally， at taking seriously people who are at a distance from us. But what about people who are at a distance from us in time？ So， I’m talking about future people， future generations. And I think that， in our world today， we’re still 2）dreadfully short-term as not 3）taking nearly serious enough account of the future.

So， how to deal with this？ So， I’ve got a 4）proposal about this. I say let’s bring in a new political institution to sit above any 5）chambers of 6）parliament， and to be 7）empowered and required to 8）manifest concern and care for future people， and， indeed， to represent their basic interests to us， to represent to us the kind of 9）precaution that I spoke about earlier. How would these people be selected？ My proposal， my suggestion， is that it’s a kind of “super jury”， a citizen’s jury of ordinary people， who come together to represent the future. And what power should they have？ They should have the power to 10）veto any action that would 11）undermine the basic needs of future people.
