【Abstract】Middle school students are in the stage of rapid development of body and intelligence,special psychological characteristics have a certain influence on the learning enthusiasm.This paper,from the perspective of psychology,analyzes the main factors that affect students' English learning motivation.

Middle school students' unique psychology has an impact on the enthusiasm for English learning.English learning itself is a long-term intellectual labor,if there is not enough interest to support certain enthusiasm,it is difficult to achieve good learning effect.Under the background of new curriculum reform,combining with the present situation of English teaching in middle school,the paper aims at breaking traditional research direction,starting from applying of psychology,exploring strategies to improve the students' English learning enthusiasm and promoting the development of middle school English teaching.

First,the main psychological factors that influence the students' English learning motivation

When students are in specific learning activities,their performance of serious,nervous,or active,tenacious learning attitude and learning quality can be called learning motivation.

(a)psychological process of English learning in middle school

Psychological process of English learning in middle school mainly consists of of two parts:psychological process and personality.Its psychological process includes cognition,emotion,will and other psychological activities.Firstly,Many students in middle school have a negative attitude towards English learning and lack clear learning objectives.Secondly,skills of hearing,speaking,reading and writing rely on imitation,memorization,practice and application.Finally,to form a certain English thinking,teachers should guide students to actively learn,dare to try,think independently of problems,thus improve the enthusiasm.

(b)psychological factors affecting English learning motivation

The psychological factors that affect learner's learning include the learner's motivation,need,attitude and emotion.Middle school students are in a special stage of growth,their learning psychology is constantly changing,these psychological factors can directly affect their learning enthusiasm.First,motivation:the desire to learn English.Second,need.Only in the case of need,can it be possible to improve students learning enthusiasm.Third,attitude,which is the key to learning English.Fourth,emotional state.Middle school students' emotion is very fragile,their interest is easy to change as emotion changes,resulting in their English learning enthusiasm unstable.

Second,eliminate psychological barriers of English learning

In the process of English learning,it is clear that the students' enthusiasm for English learning can be improved if their psychological barriers are eliminated.

(a)to develop the non intelligence factors of middle school students

In the process of English learning,the purpose of study is to establish a correct attitude towards learning,to cultivate students' healthy learning motivation.

(b)an effective method of teaching English

Teachers should guide students to master effective English learning methods,make them more confident,so as to improve their enthusiasm for English learning.

(c)caring for,praising and encouraging students

Middle school students tend to enjoy being concerned about,so teachers should give students more attention and students' difficulties in English learning should be found and helped in time.

(d)preparing lessons carefully and innovating teaching methods

Teachers should prepare each lesson from psychological characteristics of students,consider of students' performance and ability,design effective teaching activities.

Third,Conclusion

Under the background of new curriculum reform,it is necessary to reform English teaching,improve students' enthusiasm for English learning and combine pedagogy with psychology.
