The project is based on an attentive reading of the life of a very specific kind of community，a sort of micro-society with its own rules. The architectural program，somewhere in between a hotel and a hospital，seeks to comprehend and re-interpret the combination of the social and the private，accommodating the needs of both social life and solitude. With a clear，expressive design，the independent unities are composed into a unique body. The reduced mobility of those who will live in the building suggests that any displacement would be an emotive and variable experience. The distance between the independent units is measured and drawn to turn the idea of path into life，and its time into form.

The building，with its carefully designed path，is like a wall rising naturally from the topography: it limits and defines the open space，organizing the entire plot.

周燕珉：這個(gè)老年住宅項(xiàng)目具有簡(jiǎn)潔、明快的外觀和平面設(shè)計(jì)風(fēng)格。建筑通過單側(cè)走廊串聯(lián)起多戶老年住宅，走廊一側(cè)間隔設(shè)置的大面積窗為走廊提供了較好的采光。另一側(cè)立面強(qiáng)烈的虛實(shí)對(duì)比則與內(nèi)部的功能具有邏輯關(guān)系：虛的位置暗示每戶住宅之間的間隙，通過設(shè)置落地窗及平臺(tái)，使每戶住宅保持了一定的私密性，又具有相對(duì)獨(dú)立的活動(dòng)場(chǎng)所和視野。

劉燕輝：薩爾堡是個(gè)位于葡萄牙南部的小城鎮(zhèn)，有著典型的白墻紅瓦，以及夏季炎熱干燥、冬季溫和多雨的氣候。這個(gè)項(xiàng)目有著現(xiàn)代建筑簡(jiǎn)潔精煉的氣質(zhì)，卻又不失對(duì)于使用者的精神關(guān)懷。建筑像一道白色的城墻嵌入場(chǎng)地，將相對(duì)較大的體量化解為一道平易近人的大地景觀，并圍合出一個(gè)充滿陽光的靜謐庭院。這道折線不僅形態(tài)優(yōu)美活潑，更使得以教堂為中心的傳統(tǒng)空間得以強(qiáng)調(diào)，使用者從每個(gè)居住單元都可以望向這里。從建筑平面上可以看到，設(shè)計(jì)者不僅從生理上考慮了居住的舒適性，更對(duì)使用者在社交需求與私密性需求上進(jìn)行了細(xì)微關(guān)照。

ZHOU Yanmin: This project has a simple，bright style in its appearance and planning. The houses for elderly people are connected by a single corridor，which is well lighted by nicely-spaced large windows on one side. On the other side of the building complex，strong contrast between the solid and the void on the fa?ade bears a logical relation to the interior functions: the void parts suggest the spaces in between neighboring houses，where French windows and terraces are designed to guarantee certain privacy for each household while providing relatively independent places for activities and views.

LIU Yanhui: A small town in south Portugal，Alcácer do Sal has dry，hot summers and mild，rainy winters； its architecture is characteristic of white walls and red tiles. This project has a simplistic modern appeal while at the same time expresses spiritual concern for the users: the building is embedded in the site like a white wall，dissolving a relatively grand mass into an approachable zigzag landscape around a light-filled，tranquil courtyard. This zigzagged line not only has a lively elegant form，but also gives emphasis to the chapel-centered traditional space，so that tenants from every housing unit may get a nice view of it. As seen from the architectural plan，the designer not only takes into consideration physically comfortable living conditions，but also gives meticulous care to the social and private needs of the users.
