There was once a guy who suffered from cancer①cancer 英 ［'k?ns?］ 美 ［'k?ns?］ n. 癌癥；惡性腫瘤， a cancer that can't be cured. He was 18 years old and he could die anytime. All his life，he was stuck②stuck 英 ［st?k］ 美 ［st?k］ adj. 被卡住的；不能動的in his house being taken cared by his mother. He never went outside but he was sick of③be sick of 厭惡、厭倦staying home and wanted to go out for once. So he asked his mother and she gave him permission.

He walked down his block and found a lot of stores. He passed a CD store and looked through the front door for a second as he walked. He saw a beautiful girl about his age and he knew it was love at first sight. He walked closer and closer until he was finally at the front desk where she sat.

She looked up and asked， "Can I help you？"

She smiled and he thought it was the most beautiful smile he has ever seen before and wanted to kiss her right there.

He said， "Uh... Yeah... Umm... I would like to buy a CD."

"Would you like me to wrap it for you？" she asked， smiling her cute smile again.

He nodded and she went to

the back. She came back with the wrapped④wrap 英 ［r?p］ 美 ［r?p］ vt. 包；纏繞；隱藏；掩護CD and gave it to him. He took it and walked out of the store.

He went home and from then on， he went to that store every day and bought a CD， and she wrapped it for him. One day， he took all his courage and went to the store as usual. He bought a CD like he did every day and once again she went to the back of the store and came back with it wrapped. He took it and when she wasn't looking， he left his phone number on the desk and ran out...

RRRRRING!!!

One day the phone rang， and the mother picked it up and said，"Hello？"

It was the girl!!! The mother started to cry and said， "You don't know？ He passed away yesterday..."

The line was quiet except for the cries of the boy's mother. Later in the day， the mother went into the boy's room because she wanted to remember him. She thought she would start by looking at his clothes. So she opened the closet.

She was face to face with piles⑤pile 英 ［pa?l］ 美 ［pa?l］ n. 堆；大量and piles and piles of unopened CDs. She was surprised to find all these CDs and she picked one up

and sat down on the bed and she started to open one. Inside， there was a CD and as she took it out of the wrapper， out fell a piece of paper. The mother picked it up and started to read it. It said： Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me？Love， Jocelyn.

The mother was deeply moved and opened another CD...

Again there was a piece of paper. It said： Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me？ Love，Jocelyn.

Love is... when you've had a huge fight but then decide to put aside your egos⑥ego 英 ［'i?ɡ??； 'e-］ 美 ［'iɡo］ n. 自我；自我意識， hold hands and say， "I Love You."

從前，有一個少年患了癌癥，根本無法治愈。他只有18歲，隨時都可能死去。他每天都待在家里，由母親照料著。他從來都沒出去過，但在家實在待煩了，想出去走走，母親也就同意了。

他走在大街上，看到了很多商店，經過一家音像店時，他透過櫥窗盯了一會兒。他看到了一個非常美麗的同齡女孩，并對她一見鐘情。他不由自主地走到了柜臺前，走到那個女孩坐著的地方。

女孩抬頭問道：“你想要點什么？”

她微笑著，他覺得這是他一生中看到的最美的笑容，其實這時他最想做的就是吻她。

他結結巴巴地說：“是的，嗯，那個……我想買一張CD。”

“想讓我把它包起來嗎？”女孩問，依然帶著可愛的笑容。

他點了點頭。她回到后面，出來的時候，手里拿著包裝好的CD，然后交給了他。他接過CD，離開了商店。

他回家了。從那以后，這個少年每天都到那家音像店去買一張CD。終于他鼓起了勇氣，像往常一樣走進了音像店，買了一張CD，她也像往常一樣，到后面去替他包起來。他接過CD，趁她不注意時將自己的電話號碼放在柜臺上，然后跑了出去……

丁零零！！！

有一天，電話鈴響了，母親接起電話：“喂？”

是那個女孩打來的!!!母親傷心地哭了，她說：“你不知道嗎？他昨天死了……”

電話線那端沉默了，只能聽到母親的抽泣聲。那天晚些時候，母親來到兒子的房間，她想念兒子了，就想看看他的衣服，于是打開了衣柜。

母親看到的是衣柜里一大堆包好的CD，這些CD都沒有打開過。母親大吃一驚。她坐在床邊，打開了一個包裝，從包裝盒中拿出CD時，盒里掉出一張小紙條，她拾了起來，上面寫道：嗨，你好，我覺得你真的很可愛，愿意和我一起出去嗎？喬斯林。

母親深受感動，她又打開了一個CD盒……

里面仍有一張小紙條，上面都寫著同樣的話：嗨，你好，我覺得你真的很可愛，愿意和我一起出去嗎？喬斯林。

愛是什么？當你作了巨大的思想斗爭，最終決定拋開一切束縛時，那就攥緊手，說出“我愛你”。
