Yukihira Souma is a boy who always wants to be a chef beyond his father. ln order to realize his dream，he tempered①temper英 ［'temp?］ 美 ［'t?mp?］ n. 脾氣；（鋼等）回火；性情；傾向vt. 使回火；鍛煉；調和；使緩和We should temper ourselves through manual labour. 我們應該通過勞動鍛煉自己。himself by entering into Far Moon campus. Consciously or unconsciously， everyone believes that people can do nothing about losing out to those gifted guys. Therefore， they put a lid above their heart. However，Souma didn't have that kind of lid and he had a strong mind to face the deficient part of himself. Comparing with other boys from blood anime，Souma is more practical representing②represent英 ［repr?'zent］ 美 ［，r?pr?'z?nt］ vt. 代表；表現；描繪；回憶；再贈送vi. 代表；提出異議Let me represent my ideas to you in another way.讓我用另一種方式向你說明我的想法。the masses and hard progress. After all， always working and thinking are the ultimate meaning of progress.
幸平創真，一直想成為超越父親的料理家。背負夢想，進入遠月學園磨煉。大家都這樣想，輸給天賦異稟的家伙也是沒辦法，有意識或無意識地人會給自己的心蓋上蓋子。但創真沒有這種蓋子，而是有著“對于自己不足的部分，平靜之余面對的那份強大”。代表著平民與努力進步的立場的創真，和其他熱血動漫的男主相比，多了幾分踏實的味道。畢竟，一直做一直思考，才是進步的最終奧義。
