8. therefore adv. 因此，所以

（1） therefore不是連詞而是副詞，和however一樣，因此不能單獨連接兩個句子，前面須用and來連接。

He was down with the flu， and therefore couldnt come to the party.

他患了流行性感冒，因此未能去參加聚會。

He is only 17 and therefore not eligible to vote.

他只有17歲，因此沒有在選舉中投票的資格。
