青島中歐國際城展覽中心的玻璃幕墻外罩長條波浪結構。這座建筑以條狀、如海藻般的海浪造型，代替傳統沉悶的幕墻外觀，成為該區一道獨特的風景線。展覽中心的各個入口處皆設置在“海浪俯沖”的位置，結構升起并突出形成車輛通道門廊。海浪造型設計與青島這座港口城市交相呼應，設計中的垂直條紋則參考了當地貝殼上的紋路。

Although the Sino EU International City Exhibition Centre in Qingdao has a glass curtain wall fa?ade，the ensemble of this centre is a long， waving ribbon. This building substitutes the conventional fa?ade with an undulating， striated， seaweed-like ribbon. Its entrances are indicated by boldly swooping the bottom of the ribbon up and out in a kind of porte-cochere. The wave symbolism is apt here in the port city Qingdao and Aedas has taken references from the parallel striations found on local sea shells for the vertical ‘striations' of the wave/ribbon.
