Leon: Yeah.

Leon: Yeah.

Leon: I only did that once.

Ellen: One…Will you do it again?

Leon: When you…when both3)parachutes don’t open, you4)tend to not go repeat something like that. Yeah.

Ellen: What’re you talking about? Well then, how do you get down?

Leon: I had…I jumped out of the airplane, and then, my first chute didn’t open. They cut—it’s5)tandem, so somebody’s on your back—they cut that line. We started free-falling towards earth, and that’s when you get the, you know, 8×10 glossies1：指8×10英寸的照片，即10寸（19.2×24.4cm）照片。of your whole life flashing before your eyes. And then the second one was6)tangled as well, and I saw all my friends sort of7)popping off with their, you know, their parachutes. And I’m still8)plummeting towards the planet Earth, and, and then that was tangled for about a good…I don’t know, 20, 30 seconds, and then he untangled it, and then he told me, “Oh, you’re probably gonna break your legs now because this…we’re going too fast.” So it was one of the worst experiences of my life, and I’ll never do it again.

Ellen: And did you break your legs?

Leon: I did not break my legs.

Ellen: Wow! So he’s9)whispering in your ear, or10)yelling in...

Leon: He was11)screaming.

Ellen: Screaming in your… (Whispers) “You’re gonna break your legs.”

Leon: (Whispers) “You’re gonna break your legs.”

Leon: I was on a plane to Russia and the13)engine14)exploded. I was looking out the window and the entire engine just turned into a fireball. Leon: Yeah.

Ellen: …river.

Leon: This happened in…in one of the engines, and I was the…I was the only person there that seemed to see this, but it was a16)flaming fireball. It was all Russian, um, passengers, and I17)kinda felt like I’d already died and gone to heaven, ’cause no one said anything. And I was screaming at the top of my lungs, saying, “What the hell is going on here?”And people just kinda looked back at me and the…and the18)stewardess came and said,“We seem to have a, a slight problem here.”And the Russian guy finally said, “What is the problem?” and she said, “Well, we…we lost one of our engines,” and he said, he goes,“How many engines did we have?” She said,“Well, we had two. Now we have one.”

(The audience laugh and applause)

Leon: And…he19)proceeded to say, “That is not…that is not good, that is not good.” And we basically20)dumped fuel for 45 minutes and did an21)emergency landing, and all our tires exploded, and there was eh, 100 different22)ambulances there, and it was on CNN, and…that was another23)bummer.

Ellen: Wow! Oh my God! It…that’s24)incredible!

Leon: I feel like I should write a book now.

Ellen: Yeah, well…

Leon: Keep it down.

Ellen: No, I’m gonna write it.

(Leon laughs)

萊昂：當你……當兩個傘包都打不開的時候，你不會想要再做類似的傻事。是的。

艾倫：你在說什么？那你是怎么降落的？

萊昂：我從……我從飛機上跳下來，然后，我的第一個傘包打不開。他們割斷了—那是雙人跳傘，所以你的背后有人—他們把繩子割斷了。我們開始向地面自由落體，然后當你到了那種境地，你知道的，你人生中的重要時刻會變成一張張10寸照片在你眼前閃過。接著第二個傘包也打結了，我看到我所有的朋友們，你知道的，他們的傘包一個個砰砰砰地彈開，但我還在垂直下墜。大概打結了有整整……我不知道，二三十秒吧，然后他解開了，然后他對我說：“噢，你現在很可能會摔斷腿哦，因為這個……我們的下降速度太快了。”所以這是我人生中最糟糕的經歷之一，而我再也不想經歷第二次。

艾倫：那后來你摔斷腿了嗎？

萊昂：沒有。

艾倫：哇！所以他是在你耳邊小聲說的？還是大喊大叫……

萊昂：他尖叫著說的。

艾倫：在你耳邊尖叫……（悄聲說）“你會摔斷腿的。”

萊昂：（悄聲說）“你會摔斷腿的。”

艾倫：（尖叫）“什么？我聽不見！”哇！那太可怕了！那么最讓你害怕的一段經歷是什么？

萊昂：我在一架開往俄羅斯的飛機上，然后飛機引擎爆炸了。我剛好望向窗外，看到整個引擎燒成了一團火球。這件事發生在沙林遇到大雁撞擊兩個引擎后不久……

艾倫：是的，那次他將飛機迫降在……

萊昂：是的。

艾倫：……河里。

萊昂：同樣的事也發生在……在那駕飛機的一個引擎上，而我……我似乎是飛機上唯一一個看到的人，但那可是一團熊熊燃燒的火球啊。飛機上全是俄羅斯乘客，我感覺自己好像已經上天堂了，因為飛機上沒有人說話。我聲嘶力竭地大喊：“究竟發生了什么事？”其他人回過頭看著我，然后……然后空姐走過來對我說：“我們好像遇到了一點小問題。”終于有一個俄羅斯人問：“什么問題？”空姐說：“嗯，我們……我們少了一個引擎。”然后他說，他說：“我們原先有幾個引擎？”她說：“嗯，我們本來有兩個，現在我們只有一個。”

（觀眾笑著鼓掌）

萊昂：然后……他接著說：“那可不……那可不好，那可不好。”然后我們花了差不多45分鐘的時間排油，接著緊急迫降，所有的輪胎都爆掉了，還有，呃……動用了100輛來自不同醫院的救護車，還上了美國有線電視新聞網絡（CNN）的新聞，這又是另一件倒霉事。

艾倫：哇！我的天！這……這簡直太不可思議了！

萊昂：我覺得我現在應該寫本書。

艾倫：是的，嗯……

萊昂：記下來。

艾倫：不，我會幫你寫。

1994年，19歲的小李子憑借在《不一樣的天空》（What’s Eating Gilbert Grape）中的精彩表現，得到了第66屆奧斯卡最佳男配角提名，從此開始了漫長艱辛的沖奧之路。

2005年，好運再次降臨，電影《飛行者》（The Aviator）為他贏得了人生中第一次的奧斯卡最佳男主角提名；失敗不算什么，強者總是越挫越勇，2007年，小李子又被提名最佳男主角，這次是電影《血腥鉆石》（Blood Diamond，又名《血鉆》）；2014年，在《華爾街之狼》（The Wolf of Wall Street）里的賣力表演又為他贏得了最佳男主角提名，卻依舊與獎項失之交臂，已經陪跑20年的小李子在頒獎現場眼含熱淚的失落表情讓無數觀眾為之心疼；2016年，他帶著《荒野獵人》（The Revenant）第五次出征奧斯卡，終于沖奧成功，獲封影帝。
