A Monkey and a Crocodile

猴子與鱷魚

我們的朋友走著走著，看到遠(yuǎn)處有個(gè)人。當(dāng)他走近一些時(shí)，他注意到這個(gè)當(dāng)?shù)厝嗽诓粩嗟匾贿厯鞏|西，一邊又把撿起的東西拋進(jìn)水里。

朋友很疑惑。他走近那個(gè)人并說(shuō)道，“晚上好，朋友。我很好奇你在做什么?！?/p>

“我在把這些海星都拋回海洋里。你看，現(xiàn)在正處低潮時(shí)期，所有的海星都被沖上了岸。如果我不把它們拋回海里，它們會(huì)在這里缺氧而死。”

“我明白了，”我朋友回答說(shuō)，“但這海灘上肯定有著數(shù)以千計(jì)的海星。你不可能把它們?nèi)紥伝睾＠?。這實(shí)在是太多了。難道你沒(méi)意識(shí)到這樣的事情很可能在沿岸成百上千的海灘上都會(huì)上演嗎？難道你不明白，你這樣做可能并沒(méi)有改變什么嗎？”

當(dāng)?shù)厝诵α?，他彎腰撿起又一只海星，一邊把海星拋回海里，一邊回答，“那就努力改變這一只海星的命運(yùn)吧！”

They swam slowly. Suddenly, the mother crocodile saw the monkey,“Oh, a monkey! How nice if I have it for my dinner!”

Then she said to her son, “My son, do you love me?” “Yes, of course,”the baby crocodile answered. “Well, can you see that monkey? I want to eat his heart. Can you go and get it for me?” the mother crocodile asked.“All right.”

The baby crocodile swam near the river1)bank. Heshouted atthe monkey. “Hey, monkey! Would you like some bananas? There are many banana trees over there on the other bank of the river.” “Bananas? Hmm, I like them very much. But I can’t swim. How can I get there?” the monkey said. “Oh, I can carry you there.”“Really? Thank you very much!” the monkeyjumped ontothe crocodile’s back.

They swam towards the other side of the river. In the middle of the river, the crocodiledived intothe water. When hecame upagain, the monkey was wetall over. “Don’t do that again, or you’ll kill me!”the monkey shouted. “I know, but I must do that! Because my mother wants to eat your heart.” “My heart? Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I don’t have it with me, I left it in that tree. We should go back for it!” So they swam back.

As soon as they got to the bank, the monkey picked up a big stone and climbed up onto the tree as quickly as he could. Hehunghimselfupin the tree and shouted at the crocodile, “Don’t you want my heart? Well, catch!” the monkeythrewthe big stoneatthe crocodile.

于是，鱷魚寶寶游到了河岸邊。他沖猴子大聲吆喝起來(lái)?！昂?，猴子！你想不想吃香蕉？河的對(duì)岸有很多香蕉樹哦?！薄跋憬?？嗯，我很喜歡吃香蕉。但我不會(huì)游泳。我該怎么到那邊去呢？”猴子說(shuō)。“噢，我可以背你到那兒呀?！薄罢娴膯幔磕钦娴暮芨兄x你！”接著猴子就跳上了鱷魚的背。

他們向河的另一邊游去?？捎蔚胶又醒霑r(shí)，鱷魚潛入了水里。當(dāng)他再次上來(lái)時(shí)，猴子全身都濕透了。“不要再這樣做了，否則你會(huì)殺死我的！”猴子大喊道。“我知道，但我必須這樣做！因?yàn)槲覌寢屜胍阅愕男呐K。”“我的心臟？為什么你不早點(diǎn)告訴我？我沒(méi)把它帶在身上，我把它留在了那棵樹上。我們要折返回去拿！”于是，他們便游回去了。

他們一到達(dá)河岸，猴子就撿起一塊大石頭，盡自己最快的速度爬上了樹。他掛在樹上，對(duì)著鱷魚大喊，“你不是想要我的心臟嗎？嗯，抓住了！”接著猴子就把大石頭扔向了鱷魚。
