We have now said goodbye to the Year of Monkey and welcomed in the Year of the Rooster, I would like to convey my sincere greetings and best wishes to all the passengers on behalf of China Southern Air Holding Company.

In the past year, all the employees of China Southern Airlines have resolutely carried out instructions of the Party Central Committee, and actively built a “Sunshine China Southern”. We have solemnly made the commitment to “reassure the Party Central Committee, the general public, and inspire our employees”. We are vigorous, enterprising and at the same time down to earth. We fulfilled all the tasks of the year in safety and transported 115 million passengers. We also successfully finished test flights to Yongshu reef and Meiji reef in the South China Sea. By opening up the first green channel in China for donated human organ transportation, we not only improved the quality of our services, but also fulfilled our economic, political and social responsibilities as a state-owned enterprise and have been rewarded with a better social reputation.

As the largest airline company in Asia with more than 700 aircraft, China Southern will continue to seek progress in stability, while sticking to the strategic guideline of “safety-first and market-orientation”. We will continue to forge our Guangzhou-Beijing dual hub, adhere to the strategic mindset of standardisation, integration, intelligence and internationalisation, meanwhile striving to achieve the goal of becoming an internationally competitive and world-class aviation industry group.

In the hopeful year of 2017, all the employees of China Southern will unite closely around the Party Central Committee with President Xi Jinping at the core and continue on the path of building a “Sunshine China Southern”. We will prepare for the coming of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with a stable and safe state and good business performance. We would like to comprehensively propel the development strategy of China Southern and strive to achieve the Two Centenary Goal and the Chinese nation's bright prospect on the road to revival with all passengers.

The Year of the Monkey made a broad way for a prosperous Year of Rooster.

“From abandoning 57 tons of fuel oil to prepare for the emergency landing to save a passenger's life, to the captain who calmly dealt with the dangerous situation during Turkey coup attempt, 'China Southern Airlines' is a name that brings warmth to one's heart,” commented a media insider.

In the past year, we steadily made way for an even better future by building up a preliminary image of “Sunshine China Southern”, and have achieved the highest quality of safety in the past five years, while successfully achieving another year of safety.

Also, we spared no effort to fulfill our social responsibility. Last year, we opened a few more international flights and became the first carrier in China to launch the service of “air medical volunteers” and “Green Channel for human donated organ transportation”. We took the lead to take part in the project of “Open Cloud Platform of Big Data of Integrative Traffic Transportation” organized by the Ministry of Transport, in order to carry out the project of “E-Travel with China Southern”, which works to better improve passengers' flight experience.

Meanwhile, our on time rate has achieved its best result in the past five years, and was rated as the top 15“Favourite Airline Company” in the world and No.1 in the Chinese mainland, according to SKYTRAX airline reviews. This delightful news also makes us realize that we should always work harder to provide a comfortable and heart-warming experience for the customers.

Looking ahead, we see the goal of becoming a competitive world-class airline company. This means a supreme level of safety, service, management, and brand power. We shall stay true to our original mission, while we march forward.
