“嵌入”與“延續”

科技館和演藝中心兩座建筑不僅應“嵌入”用地，同時要成為因用地北側京包鐵路而被阻斷的文化核心區內由南側的內蒙古博物館和大劇院到北側的科技館和演藝中心所形成的南北延伸的城市空間軸線的收尾。

“和”而“不同”

科技館和演藝中心在綠色草坡烘托下的起伏舒展的建筑形體所呈現的氣質和表情源自對建筑周邊環境、城市空間做出分析的并在設計中所給予的回應。

“功能”與“意義”

建筑核心的中庭空間通過“序廳–大廳–展廳–連橋–未來島”的空間秩序，實現建筑意義空間的營造。

“文化”與“表達”

弓形曲線、大尺度綠坡和白色建筑表皮的對比以及中庭空間色彩和圓形天窗等細節的運用，給親臨者以恢弘的震撼力和情感共鳴，并在快速發展、趨同的城市空間一角流露出具有地方性、個性化的筆觸。

Embeddedness and Continuation

The Science and Technology Museum and Performing Arts Centre are embedded in the site accurately, making themselves the end of the urban spatial axis extending from the Inner Mongolia Museum and Grand Theatre in the southern part of the cultural core area, which is cut o ff by the Beijing-Baotou Railway north to the site.

Harmony and Diversity

The temperament and expression presenting by the architectural shape, stretching ups and downs, set o ff by the green grass slope, is an answer to the surroundings and urban space after careful analysis.

Function and Meaning

The core atrium space of the architecture is established by a complex space sequence, which is "Lobby-Great Hall-Exhibition Room-Connecting Bridge-Future Isle" in order, realizing the space meaning in the building.

Culture and Expression

The bow-shaped curve, the contrast between large-scale green slope and white building skin, the colour of atrium space, and the detail of circular skylight impress the visitors with the power of grand shock and emotional resonance, leaving a fresh brushwork of locality and individuality in one piece of urban space with high-speed development and similarity trend.
