A380六年檢后成功試飛

A380 TEST FLIGHT SUCCESSFUL AFTER 6-YEAR CHECK

At 8:16am on 12th May, an A380 (No. B-6136) landed on the runway after a one-hour test fl ight at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. This marks the success of the test fl ight after the conclusion an in-depth 6-year 3C- check. The test fl ight is to verify the proper functions of the aircraft. This is the fi rst time it returned to the sky after a 72-day grounding time at GAMECO where cabin refurbishment, in-depth structure modif i cations and system upgrades were conducted.

中國最后一架波音737-300退役

THE LAST BOEING737-300 IN CHINA RETIRES

On 8th May, the last Boeing 737-300 passenger aircraft in Chinese mainland off i cially retires after its last commercial fl ight. The aircraft (No. B-2959) was delivered to China Southern Airlines in March 1996, and began its service in China Southern Airlines' Henan Branch in the same year. At 7:35am on 8th May, it took off from Zhengzhou Airport to Hangzhou and returned to Zhengzhou at 12:10pm. This marks the end of its 21-year service in China Southern as well as the era of Boeing 737-300 in China.

CHINA SOUTHERN TO BUILD THE BEST AIR CATERING COMPANY IN CHINA

On 18th May, China Southern Airlines reestablished a new air catering company by integrating the existing resources of the whole company. The new air catering company draws on the previous Guangzhou Nanland Air Catering Company as a platform and re-organizes its businesses of processing, supply, research and distribution and so on. The aim of the company is to build the best air catering company in China, and to achieve international standards.

CHINA SOUTHERN TO ORDER 20 A350S

On 26th April, China Southern Airlines signs with Airbus to buy 20 Airbus A350s. A350 is a twin-engine long haul widebody aircraft to replace the A330 and A340 series models. The model draws on the A380's "skewed edge" technology, so that the new A350 composite wings have an extraordinary fl ight performance.

CHINA'S FIRST AIR PASSENGER ELECTRONIC INVOICE ISSUED

On 12th May, China Southern Airlines and China Southern Power Grid Corporation jointly issued the nation's fi rst air passenger electronic invoice in the State Taxation Bureau in Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. As the fi rst user, China Southern Power Grid's employees can choose printouts or electronic invoices in the form of reimbursement. China Southern Airlines is China's fi rst air carrier that offers such electronic invoices.

CHINA SOUTHERN ANNOUNCED A FULL BAN ON SHARK FIN GOODS

On 9th May, China Southern announced the end of shipping shark fi n goods and is as the second domestic airline to make such a decision following China International Cargo Airlines Co., Ltd. The international public welfare organization“Wild Rescue” praised China Southern on its shark fi n embargo action and a number of media outlets have reported it.
