THE RECONSTRUCTED MEMORY
every memory is reconstructed, and as a society transitions from agriculture to modern industrialization, deep anxieties bubble up as we contrast our present to the simpler old days. Artist Deng
Han (鄧涵), born in the late 1970s, recreates his memories through paintings of furniture and vintage interior decor to provide a snapshot of urban life in the last century. His works distill thoughtful consideration and insight into carefully constructed disarray, a soft and reserved style that leaves room for the viewer to explore the artist’s still, quiet emotions.
