A WOLF ON WATCH: THE POETRY OF ABBAS KIAROSTAMI

Abbas Kiarostami is not just a well known fi lm director, he is also a poet with unique writing style. More than 200 poems are included in the poetry. Some of them are originated from ancient Persian poems, showing the philosophy and meditation of ancient Persian. Abbas never writes any long and tedious poems, and there is no title for any poems, but the contents of the poetry are full of his personal thoughts and observations on the world.

LONG DAY’S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT

In summer of 1939, San Francisco was full of the panic of the war. The Nobel prize winner O'Neil started to write the memoir script Long Day's Journey into Night that had been in his mind for a long time. He decided to let what happened in his family all hang out in his book. This autobiography script became his representative work. According to his will, the book was not performed until 1956 after his death. The same-name book has been released recently.

1939年夏天，大戰陰影籠罩的舊金山，已經獲得諾貝爾文學獎的奧尼爾，開始撰寫在內心深藏多年的自傳戲《長夜漫漫路迢迢》。他決心將自己家中不可告人之事毫無保留地訴諸筆墨。這部自傳性劇作成為奧尼爾代表作。按作者本人的要求，這部作品在他去世后，直到1956年才首次上演。該書的中文版于近日上市。
