The practice and application of modern minimalist style in interior design
——a case study of leong zhitian's house 61,jiudu peak, Hong Kong

Abstract：The modern minimalist style,is a popular design style in the modern interior design,it has the characteristics of functional,simple, atmospheric,and without too much multifarious adornment fill,but the pursuit of practicality and flexibility of the space,make its form is subject to function,make the space utilization rate is high.In this paper,the application principles and design practice principles of house are respectively expounded from the perspectives of design style,design basis,design method,design materials and design technology,taking designer leong zhitian's 61,jiudu peak,Hong Kong as an example.It enables people to have a deeply understanding and experience of modern minimalist style,so as to understand that modern minimalist style meets the requirements of the development of modern industrial society,and it can reflect one's life taste.

Chapter 1 Background and situation of the modern minimalist style

The modern minimalist style is a decorate style with contracted based.The modernist master of architecture,Mies van de Rohe, famously stressed and advocated the "less is more" design principle.Modern minimalist style pursues functionalism,less decoration,simple but not boring.Modern minimalist style is simple in appearance and strong in functionality.

Modern people are facing the pollution and bustle of city life.This kind of phenomenon makes more and more urbanite begin to abandon complex,luxurious, fussy interior is decorated,do one's best has a kind of natural contracted and comfortable bedroom environment,so contemporary contracted style gets everybody more and more advocate.

Chapter 2 formation and development of the modern minimalist style

With the collision of various cultures,different interior design styles have appeared. Modern minimalism can be generally regarded as the inheritance,development and transformation of simplified design in the theory system of modernism and international modernism.

Simplicity is by no means monotony and nothingness.We should seek "complexity" and "more" in the form and order of"simplicity" and "less" to complete the "deduction on form" and"expansion of situation".Just as people often hang on the mouth"concise and lively, natural and decent" not equal to drab and tedious same, contracted creed also is by no means simple and nihilistic pronoun.

Chapter 3 The practice and application of the modern minimalist style on house 61, Kau to peak, Hong Kong

The design style of house 61 is modern and simple.Leong summed up his design style like this:My work reflects a strong and unique character of minimalism with adoption of Asian culture and arts.However,leong's "minimalism" is not a rigid expression of emotion,handsome,cold and severe,leisurely,simple,happy,intoxicated and generous,all the natural state of life has been included in "leong's simplicity", which is also a reflection of his "people-oriented" design principle.

Pursuit of contracted beauty,because the heavens and the earth itself provides two most basic,the most perfect design element─light and space.In terms of interior design, room 61,from the professional perspective of architecture,carefully handles each interior space,and strives to highlight the perfect use of space and light coordination.With "people-oriented"as the primary design concept,the house owner's unique style,personality, preferences and cultural background add life color to the space,create comfort and harmony everywhere,in order to achieve the "harmony of heaven and man" perfect state.

Chapter 4 Foreground and significance of the modern minimalist style on modern interior design

Modern simple style is of great significance in modern interior design.It is a clear flow in numerous modern interior design styles,without excessive and tedious decoration filling,it plays its unique charm in the appropriate place and occupies an important position in today's society.Simplicity,not simplicity,is particularly important in this noisy modern society.Modern simple style can reflect a person's good life taste to some extent,reflecting a person's connotation.

Nowadays society,people is in the process that decorate hope is in economy, environmental protection,practical,comfort able,reflect a few good culture grade.This makes contemporary contracted style will have a good prospect inevitably, can be admired by contemporary person place certainly.
