Abstract：Practice needs theoretical guidance and theory needs to be verified and perfected in practice.Practice and theory complement each other and are indispensable.In the same way, the design activities are also the same.The design activities originate from the demand of the market.The market demand is derived from the needs of the society and the users.The market demand is the symbol of the social progress and civilization, because there is a demand for progress, and the demand will bring social and economic benefits.For industrial design majors, this demand drives the progress of product.

First, The lack of theory and principles of the design of the form of expression

With the continuous development of society, science and technology are changing with each passing day.When technology is no longer the first factor to consider at the beginning of product design, then product design will usher in a new era.At present, technology is still the first consideration in the design activities of industrial product designers.This problem has become the main obstacle to the design of appearance form.It is believed that after the problem is solved in the near future, the aesthetic of product design becomes more and more important because it seems to be all now.The product is still a form of service function.This problem has created a single form of the same product, poor shape, the form follows the functional shape design.

For example, the world's first printer, his appearance changed the handwritten revolution, and his professional field achieved great success, but his appearance seemed to be "ugly"with today's aesthetic eyes, without a sense of design, a rough shape with a rough texture, only a package with a package function.It all comes down to the first industrial revolution,with emphasis on function and light form.In short, there is no theoretical guidance and lack of design principles leading to this phenomenon.
