Cuisine is part of hometown. For those who live away from hometown, hometown can mean a variety of things such as people, tradition, culture, landscape, and food. Thats why a dish, a cake, or something else from a hometown kitchen, can be a hallmark of ones hometown. In this issue of Cultural Dialogue, we cover some topics of cuisines of Zhejiang. Nowadays, food from Zhejiang has been put on table across the world; many fishing villages in the province have become tourism destinations largely because of seafood; and Hangzhou Cuisine, a key part of Zhejiang Cuisine, has been brought to Chinese restaurants in many parts of the world.
