One day,the sewer（污水管）line under our house burst.My first response was to call the plumber（水管工）,but when he heard what was on,he begged off.“We don’t do that.”he said,as if to imply that even plumbers have their dignity.He did,however,recommend someone.I made the call,expecting the man to moan at the thought of such a miserable job.Instead,he simply asked,“The address?”

Earlier this month,6-year-old Isaac went on vacation to Fort Walton,Florida,with his family.While they were there,his mother Garrett learned about LuLu,a restaurant that offers food to customers with food allergies(過敏癥).

At LuLu,Isaac could eat a salad and a bowl of chicken soup with rice.“Isaac looked at me like,‘Is this OK?’”Garrett said.Once his mom gave the OK,Isaac enjoyed for the first time the experience of ordering and eating at a restaurant.“That look on his face was like,‘This is the coolest thing I’ve ever done,’”Garrett said.

Garrett and her family rarely go out to restaurants because of Isaac’s food allergies.When they do,she cooks something for Isaac at home before they leave and brings it with her to the restaurant.“It’s not fun and it feels unfair,”she said.

Their night at LuLu marked a celebration for Isaac.Garrett shared the moment on the restaurant’s Facebook page to thank them for helping her son.“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving Isaac this experience,”she wrote in her post.

Barnett,the restaurant’s manager,said,“When customers tell the staff that someone in their group has a food allergy,I assist with the order by passing it to the kitchen,ensuring it’s cooked in a separate station and delivering the finished food to guests.We have been improving this process over the last 10 years since our allergy program was started.”

On Garrett’s Facebook post,LuLu thanked Garrett for sharing her story. “Thank you for sharing your experience with us,”the restaurant wrote in a comment,“We are excited to see your son so happy! ”

Garrett is hoping her post’s popularity will convince other restaurants to be more accommodating（肯幫忙的）.“LuLu takes it as seriously as we take it—nothing would make us happier than that,”she said.

Aaron Weaver was born on April 14th,1998 with his only left eye.It was very likely that this rarity would also come with brain damage.It was a one in a million chance that he would not have brain damage.He went through 25 reconstructive surgeries and received a prosthetic（假體的）eye in his right eye socket.

“I know this was meant as a compliment,”White said. “But there are tons of cops ‘like me’who go above and beyond.”To prove his point,White created the Basketball Cop Foundation.Since its birth in 2016,the foundation has supplied sports equipment to over 50 police departments around the country so that other officers have what they need to go out on the streets and recreate the experience White gave those kids that day.
