A 2,000-year-old terra-cotta warrior’s[兵馬俑的]thumb[拇指]was stolen while being shown in an American museum.
According to the police, 24-year-old Michael Rohana broke off the thumb.
This happened on Dec. 21, 2017 . But museum staff didn’t notice the missing thumb until Jan. 8, 2018. Five days later the FBI[(美國(guó))聯(lián)邦調(diào)查局(Federal Bureau of Investigation)]found Rohana.
The Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Promotion Center[陜西省文物交流中心], which provided 10 of the terracotta warriors, said it was the first time such a thing happened and also announced plans to ask for compensation[賠償].

In vitro[在試管中的]animal products, or “clean meats”, are made from the stem cells[干細(xì)胞]got from living animals. The cells are then grown in a lab over several weeks.
“Chicken nuggets[炸雞塊], sausage[香腸]and foie gras[鵝肝醬]made of clean meat could be served in restaurants in the US and Asia before the end of 2018,” says Josh Tetrick, CEO of clean meat maker JUST.

There is an interesting style of playing chess. It is cold-water chess—you play chess while you sit in icy water.
In Soviet[蘇聯(lián)的]times, some winter swimmers would play chess in water. Two Russian swimmers read about this, and they got the idea for coldwater chess. It may look like a crazy thing to do,but the swimmers say that it has its benefits[好處].

One of the men said that playing in cold water helps him concentrate[集中注意力], and it lets him stay in the water for longer.
SpaceX is a company making rockets. It successfully test-launched[試發(fā)射]Falcon Heavy[獵鷹重型運(yùn)載火箭]on Feb. 6, 2018. Falcon Heavy is the world’s most powerful rocket that is twice as powerful as the second most powerful rocket.
The big rocket has three boosters[助推火箭]. The two smaller side boosters successfully landed in Florida while the central booster failed to land successfully.
The rocket carried up Elon Musk’s (the boss of SpaceX) red sports car and a dummy[假的]astronaut.
Millions of people watched the rocket launch live[現(xiàn)場(chǎng)直播地], and the lives tream[實(shí)況視頻流]became the biggest in YouTube’s history.

This is hard to believe when one man decided to fly to somewhere in a bathtub[
The Real Life Guys are YouTubers who made an indoor flight test of their homemade bathtub drone[無人機(jī)]on Christmas 2017. Days later they took their latest invention outdoors. Philipp took the propeller-powered[螺旋槳推動(dòng)的]bathtub across fields and into the car park outside a sandwich shop.
Philipp’s brother Johannes said, “Before the drone took off, people didn’t believe it could actually fly. When it took off, they couldn’t believe their eyes. This is the world’s first manned[有人駕駛的]flying bathtub, so it is pretty amazing.”
