Foreign Stone Collectors with Viewing Stones

A few years ago, we went to Nantian County Taiwan for an interview. The local sea there produces a kind of dark and round Nantian stone. Because of its heavy weight, it can be only washed ashore by the typhoon or the great waves. So whenever the big wind breaks,there are many people who loves stones will drive miles to the desolate shore to search for the stones they like. At first, it was just a few people, later, the news spread like wildfire and much more people come from all directions here to pick up the stones.There was a very small hotel in its dire straits in this area, the boss of it had wanted to pack up his baggage and walk away long ago. But since the rocky beach rose to fame, As soon as when the typhoon arrived, the passengers were overcrowded in the small hotel. After that, the boss was not busy closing down the hotel. He restarted his hotel since that and the business become booming. Besides, the flowers were planted in front of the door.

So the love for the nature is written in human’s nature. The things like stones looks clumsy and will not give you any fame and wealth, on the contrary, you need to use great effort taking care of them. But you will always say I will to the stones.So do both Chinese and foreigners.

It's just that foreign people who like stones are different from our chinses because of the different cultural tradition. After they blended the sculpture, the installation art and other categories arts, they create a new way of playing stones. In this article, we will introduce these interesting "stone" art.

I also appreciate the view of these stones collectors in western——facing with this awareness, what will we do? How will we live? Many of the ways we live are based on the fear of the unknown things,but death is a kind of ultimately unknown for us. But when we in the face of the inevitable demise,expressing our spirit, creating beauty is the ultimate victory, this is the ultimate embrace of the life.
