Climate Change Influences Business Management Decisions

In recent years，the climate changes prominently，which affects business management decisions to a great extent. Business strategies have been seriously influenced by the ?extreme climate circumstances，and public directs businesses building resilient and sustainable decisions for their economic development.（Amran et al，2016）. Based on the influence of climate change，companies have to figure out several business strategies and countermeasures to respond to the changes of environment and remain sustainable. In order to make strategies of sustainable development，companies can implement measures such as reducing emission to protect the environment，improving technology development so as to optimize their productions and using clean energy which promotes sustainable development.

To begin with，majority of companies would like to reduce emission to protect environment and decrease the threat of climate change. According to OR’ourke（2017），the European Union has forbidden PFOS and PFOA which have bad influence to the environment，and the main global fluorochemical firm reaches an agreement to remove PFOA before 2015，even 3M company discontinues producing PFOS in 2000. Under these circumstances，the major global fluorochemical firm and 3M firm will not use the chemical product PFOS or PFOA which may harm environment，so they will not discharge so much dangerous substances to the world. To some degree，they reduce hazardous substance emission to protect the environment，so that they can reduce the risk of the negative influences which were brought by climate change. Lyon，et al（2018）also mentions that there are plenty of data prove the significance of sustainability initiatives，so the occupancy rate is 11% higher in energy-efficient commercial buildings that are Leadership of Energy and Environment Design or Energy Star certified than the other buildings，and sell for 16-17% more，which are the strategies that can decrease greenhouse gas emissions. Similarly，the generalization of energy-efficient commercial buildings is also a strategy to cut down terrible emissions，in order to avoid the threat of climate change and keep the companies’ sustainability. Cadez，Czerny，and Letmathe（2018）also assume that the companies with combustion emissions take measures which decrease fossil fuel and non-fossil carbon based materials consumption. With this strategy，the companies will reduce vast amounts of emissions and protect the environment better. They may lower the threat of climate change and keep sustainable. These examples all show their business management decisions on reducing emissions to protect the environment and avoid the bad effect of climate change so as to improve their sustainability. Therefore，reducing emissions and protecting environment are of vital importance for companies to stay sustainable.

Meanwhile，a great amount of companies make business decisions of improving technology to optimize the productions so that they can stay sustainable. Bunclark et al（2018）indicate that Water Harvesting（WH）is a technology that aims to remit the limitation of rainfall especially in the semi-arid and dry sub-humid zones，and is widely regarded as the key to releasing enormous potential of agriculture. With the popularity of this technology，the crops in the arid regions can be irrigated averagely，so there will be higher quality and quantity of crops output，and the agricultural companies in arid areas can get better development in economy. In this way，companies can get rid of the threat of climate change and stay sustainable. Also，MNEs（multinational enterprises）has better management practical experience and advanced technologies than current companies and this can lead to a cleaner environment，which is especially useful in the countries that are at the leading edge of adapting to climate change.（Lei et al，2017）In this situation，the companies that suffer from the threat of climate change most can get help from the frontier technology，and they can develop the new productions and strategies which are more suitable for the present weather conditions，so they will gain a sustainable development in the sooner future. Therefore，these instances reveal that companies can develop economy by developing advanced technology and productions so that they can lower the negative impact of climate change as well as keeping sustainable.

Furthermore，there are still many companies who make strategies of searching for clean energy and alternatives to take the place of traditional raw materials in order to avoid the negative impact of climate change. Chowdhury and Balasubramanian（2017）point out that with the increasing world population and global climate change，the demand of clean energy is increasing and environmental issues gain great attention from the sustainable development，so the highly efficient energy storage and technology have strengthened a lot in the past years，especially the Carbonaceous materials which have huge potential as high performance electrode materials for the advanced energy applications. Therefore，this new energy can be used more widely now because it is a kind of clean energy and cause less pollution to the environment. Those companies who take advantage of this clean energy will reduce the threat of climate change and be more sustainable. Besides，Grandell et al（2016）state that ?because of climate change and energy security issues，the global energy sector is going to experience a gradual shift towards renewable energy sources in the following decades，and electricity is considered to obtain importance to the cost of fuels during this process. From this point of view，renewable energy is growing essential in the future and taking an increasingly important part in industry production. So companies will be more likely to use such clean energy than traditional energy which harms environment，and they will have competitive advantages because they can come over the threat of climate change.

To summarize，climate change has influenced business a lot and companies have to consider about making management decisions to come over this problem. So a lot of companies make positive strategies to stay sustainable. So as to solve the problems of weather conditions and avoid the threat of climate change，companies can make decisions like decreasing emission to protect the environment，promoting technology development in order to optimize productions and taking advantage of new energy and alternatives to remain sustainable. In this way，companies can acquire an economic development in sustainability.
