The Most Admirable People in the New Era1 新時代最可愛的人

We know that in the era of war， Peoples Liberation Army of China was called “the most admirable people”. But in the era of peace， who are the most admirable people now？

An admirable person deserves to be loved. Children may think of their parents; young people may think of their lovers; and the elderly may think of their children. But few people will think that the person who we have never met before is admirable.

An admirable person is worthy of admiration. Fans may think of their idols; officers may think of their bosses; people may think of their leaders. But few people will think that the person who just does an ordinary job is admirable.

Facing COVID-19 pandemic2， people have to overcome difficulties together. We should rethink who the most admirable people are in the new era. I have read in the newspaper that on March 10， President Xi Jinping went to Wuhan to inspect3 the prevention and control work and give comfort to people. He visited Huoshenshan Hospital and praised the healthcare workers as “the messengers of light and hope” and “the most admirable people in the new era”.

Actually， in the fight against this virus， a group of admirable people emerged.

In my opinion， the most admirable person is Dr. Zhong Nanshan， an old academician4 who is fighting virus. Because of Covid-19， he is almost known to every family. We all admire him and trust him because he made outstanding contributions in fighting the SARS epidemic5 in 2003. This time， at the age of more than 80， he went to the front line of the epidemic in Wuhan without hesitation6 and put the interests of the country and people first， which touches me a lot.

In addition， there are builders behind“Chinese speed”， who are also the most admirable people. Chinese speed is the efforts of countless people. When Huoshenshan hospital and Leishenshan hospital began to build， many builders were absent from the New Years Eve meal at home， because they put their chopsticks down， left their parents and children at home， and rushed to the site. To save time， they kept on working; to save more people， they never stopped. Such a miracle of Chinese speed was due to the hard working of all builders and other workers. They should also be the most admirable people.

In the fight against this virus， the younger generations， with birth dates ranging from the early 1990s to the early 2000s， have also shown their youth and strength. The nurse， who was standing outside the ward to check the condition inside， just turned 24 in Wuhan. In the communities， the younger generations are not afraid of hard work and actively participate in volunteer service. A 20 years old student was brave enough to take the lead. He took responsibilities for buying vegetables and daily necessities for the residents， and was always busy coming and going between the communities and shops.

There are so many admirable people， such as doctors， nurses， police and volunteers everywhere in China. They are all regardless of personal safety and go to every place where they are needed. They risk being infected7 to maintain the stability8 of society. They are doing the greatest thing！

We should respect these heroes and never forget the people who show extraordinary personality in ordinary work. All of them are the most admirable people！

What can we students do during the pandemic？

Since we are still junior school students， what we can do first is to cause less trouble to others and keep our minds and bodies healthy. We can do more exercise， eat a balanced diet， develop different hobbies and learn more about science. We also have more time to stay with our family during the pandemic， so its a good chance to learn how to love and how to be loved. For example， we can try to make a small gift or cook a meal for our parents.

Besides， President Xi Jinping said that a nation will be full of hope and a country will have a great tomorrow when younger generations have ideals， ability and a strong sense of responsibility. As students， we should set up our dreams early， make plans for it and study hard. Meanwhile， we need to shoulder greater responsibilities， make our contributions in places where the Party and the people need us most， and become the most admirable people in the future！

我們知道，在戰(zhàn)爭年代，中國人民解放軍被人們稱為“最可愛的人”。那么在和平年代，現(xiàn)在誰是最可愛的人呢？

可愛，是值得被愛的意思。孩子們可能會想到他們的父母;年輕人可能會想到他們的愛人;老人可能會想到他們的子女。但很少有人會覺得素未謀面的的人是可愛的。

可愛，是值得敬佩的意思。粉絲們可能會想到他們的偶像;職員們可能會想到他們的上司;人民可能會想到他們的領袖。但很少有人會覺得僅只是做著平凡事情的人是可愛的。

面對這次新型冠狀病毒肺炎的疫情，人們要共克時艱。我們應該重新思考：誰才是新時代最可愛的人？我在報紙上看到，3月10日，習近平總書記去武漢視察防治工作并慰問武漢人民。在火神山醫(yī)院，習近平總書記說醫(yī)療工作者是“光明的使者、希望的使者”，也是“新時代最可愛的人”。

事實上，在這次抗疫過程中，一群最可愛的人涌現(xiàn)了出來。

我認為最可愛的人是一位年紀大的抗疫院士——鐘南山醫(yī)生。因為新型冠狀病毒肺炎，他已家喻戶曉。因為他曾經(jīng)在2003年抗擊非典的過程中作出了杰出的貢獻，所以我們很欽佩他、相信他。這次，盡管他已經(jīng)是80多歲的高齡，他仍然沒有任何猶豫地趕往武漢的疫情前線，將國家和人民的利益放在了首位，令我十分感動。

另外，在“中國速度”背后的建筑工人們，也是最可愛的人。“中國速度”凝聚了無數(shù)人的努力。當火神山醫(yī)院和雷神山醫(yī)院開始建造時，許多工人沒吃上家里的年夜飯，因為他們放下了筷子，將他們的父母、子女留在家里，沖去了工地。為了節(jié)約時間，他們一直在工作;為了救更多的人，他們一直沒有停歇。這樣一個“中國速度”的奇跡，來源于所有建筑工人們和其他工作者們的努力。他們也應該是最可愛的人。

在這次抗疫過程中，還有眾多九零后、零零后的年青人同樣展現(xiàn)出了他們的青春和力量。在病房外踮著腳查看里面情況的護士，不久前剛剛在武漢滿二十四歲。在社區(qū)中，年輕人不怕辛苦，積極參與志愿服務。一位今年剛剛二十歲的學生，奮勇爭先。他幫助社區(qū)居民買菜和生活用品，總是在社區(qū)和商店間奔波。

可愛的人其實還有很多、很多，比如在中國各個地方的醫(yī)生們、護士們、警察們和志愿者們。他們都不顧個人安危，出現(xiàn)在每一個需要他們的地方。他們冒著被感染的風險，去維持社會的安定。他們做出的是壯舉！

我們應該尊重這些英雄，永遠不要忘記那些在平凡工作中表現(xiàn)出非凡人格的人。他們都是最可愛的人！

那么在這次疫情期間，我們作為學生能做些什么呢？

我們還是初中生，首先能做的是減少給他人的麻煩，讓身心保持健康。我們可以多鍛煉，均衡飲食，培養(yǎng)不同的興趣，了解更多科學知識。疫情期間，我們也有了更多和家人相處的時間，這是個學習如何去愛和如何被愛的好機會。我們可以試著給我們的父母準備小禮物，或者做飯。

另外，習近平總書記指出，青年一代有理想、有本領、有擔當，國家就有前途，民族就有希望。作為學生，我們應當早日樹立理想，制定好計劃并努力學習。我們需要勇挑重擔，在黨和人民最需要的地方綻放絢麗之花，成為未來最可愛的人！
